ENG vs PAK Match Preview

Jos Buttler and Phil Salt are two of the most explosive batsmen on the team and will open the batting yet again. The duo seems to have continued with their excellent form from the IPL as they gave England a brisk start in the previous game.

While the risk of an early wicket always exists, T20 cricket is no longer about just conserving wickets and we are sure that England will continue to attack from the start.

There is plenty of firepower in the middle order as well, thanks to the presence of Will Jacks, Johnny Bairstow, and Harry Brook, while all-rounders Moeen Ali and Liam Livingstone add depth to the batting. In terms of batting quality, there is really on comparison between England and Pakistan.

Jofra Archer made an excellent comeback to international cricket as he picked up 2 wickets. He is likely to share the new ball with Reece Topley, who himself is in good form as well. Adil Rashid and Moeen Ali will handle the spin attack.

Saim Ayub’s form at the top of the order remains the biggest concern. He and Mohammad Rizwan weren’t able to get the team to a good start in the last match and that put added pressure on the middle order. Babar Azam and Fakhar Zaman will be the key players in a middle order that is dotted with all-rounders like Shadab Khan, Iftikhar Ahmed, and Imad Wasim.

The problems for the Pakistani batting lineup are quite clear. The explosive starts other teams have gotten used to are missing and the middle-order has looked out of touch. The stability of Babar Azam helps the team get to par totals but that may not be enough against a strong England lineup.

The pace attack is pretty strong thanks to the presence of Shaheen Shah Afridi, Haris Rauf, and Mohammad Amir, while Shadab and Imad will take care of the spin. This is where Pakistan is most likely to spring a surprise. Its bowling lineup can be breathtaking and extremely destructive on its day.

Weather Report

The weather is likely to be overcast with temperatures of around 15 degrees. We may see some interruptions due to rain.

Pitch Report

The pitch at the Oval is well-balanced and we can expect an even contest between the bat and the ball. The new ball does seem around a bit but once the batsmen settle down, things get easier for them. A score of around 170 can be considered a par score on this surface.

Dream11 Prediction

We are backing England to win. They were clinical in their performance during the previous game and played better than Pakistan in all departments. The conditions at the Oval are better suited for the home team and the visitors are likely to struggle here, especially with the recent form.
