BNT vs DB Match Preview

After defeating the New York Strikers in its opening game, the Tigers are now sitting on 3 consecutive losses. The biggest let-down for them has been the batting. Other than Evin Lewis, none of the batsmen have been able to get going. Hazratullah Zazai, who was the leading run-scorer of the tournament last season, has been quite subdued. He did get a couple of good starts but hasn’t been able to convert them into big scores.

Colin Munro, Ben Cutting, and Shakib Al Hasan have been disappointing lower down the order. The bowling however has been much better, Benny Howell is the joint-highest wicket-taker of this season, while Shakib, Rohan Mustafa, and Matheesha Pathirana have taken 4 wickets each.

Tim David and Tom Banton are the two standout batsmen for the Bulls this season. David is 4th on the list of top scorers with 126 runs, while Banton has 105 runs against his name. However, other than the two, none of the batters have played well. Rilee Rossouw and Keemo Paul hold a lot of potentials but are yet to make a significant impact.

Talking about the bowling, Waqas Maqsood has been the pick of the bowlers with 4 wickets while Shiraz Ahmed and Gleeson have chipped on occasionally and have picked up 3 wickets a piece.

Weather Report

The weather is expected to be quite humid but with clear skies.

Pitch Report

The Abu Dhabi pitch is one of the better surfaces to bat on as the bounce remains consistent and predictable throughout the match. The quicker bowlers will find some movements early on but the batsmen will prevail.

Notable stats

Benny Howell’s Superb Bowling

Howell has turned out to be the Tigers’ biggest bowling asset this season, picking up 5 wickets. He has done so at an average of 13.85 and an economy rate of less than 10.

Tim David’s Blistering Batting

David has been in good touch this season and has hit 126 runs this season at an average of 31.5 and a strike rate of over 190.

Team News

Despite losing their last couple of matches we think it's unlikely that the management will make any changes within the squad. We expect the same set of players to take the field on Tuesday.

Dream11 Prediction

Both the teams are in a poor run of form, making this one of the more difficult matches to call. We however think that the Bulls can win this match as they have a couple of batsmen who are in good form, and also have experienced players like Dwayne Bravo who can hold their nerves in tight situations.

Top Picks

Evin Lewis: Lewis is a devastating batsman who has singlehandedly elevated the Tigers’ batting. In the last 4 matches, he has  scored 114 runs at a strike rate of 237.5.

Hazratullah Zazai: Zazai was the top scorer of the tournament in the previous season. In the 10 matches, he has scored 266 runs at an average of 38 and a strike rate of over 172.

Shakin Al Hasan: While he is not having a perfect tournament by his high standards, the top-ranked all-rounder in the T20s has picked up 4 wickets and scored 29 runs this season.
