WAR vs DOL Match Prediction - Nov 17, 2022

The Warriors will continue their journey in the CSA 4-Day Series, as they take on the Dolphins for their second match of the season on Thursday.

The Warriors are the favorites to win this match according to most cricket betting sites. However, the Dolphins cannot be written off at any stage, making this an exciting contest to watch out for.

WAR vs DOL Team Previews

The Warriors began their latest campaign on a winning note, as they defeated Boland by 7 wickets in the opening match. As a result, they are currently at the top of the Division 1 table.

Batting second, the Warriors conceded a 171-run lead to Boland in the first innings. But thanks to an incredible inning of 187 not-out by the newcomer Jordan Hermann, who was ably supported by Wihan Lubbe, they chased down a total of 369 in the second innings. Lesiba Ngoepe and Matthew Breetzke, who were the top-scorer for the team the last season, weren’t able to make much of an impact but will be hoping to get back their rhythm soon.

Lubbe and wicketkeeper-captain Rudi Second played handy knocks in the second innings. Glenton Sturrman was excellent with the ball and finished the match with an impressive figure of 9-107. Mthiwekhaya Nabe and Tsepo Mdwandwa provided him with good support, but more will be expected of them in the upcoming match.

Dolphins won their first 4-Day Championship during the 2020-21 season but were not able to defend it in the next edition, finishing 4th on the points table. Now, playing their first match of this season against an in-form Warriors team, they will be hoping to get off to a winning start.

The Dolphins had reached the finals of the recently concluded CSA T20 Challenge, but eventually lost out the title race against the Titans. However, they will be pretty happy with their performance in the series and will go into this contest with a positive frame of mind. One of the key players for the Dolphins will be Tshepang Dithole, who had an excellent outing last season. Luke Schlemmer who was excellent with his all-round abilities in the last season, is unavailable this time.

In his absence, much will depend on the performance of J J Smuts. Keshav Maharaj, Prenelan Subrayen, and Keegan Petersen too are unavailable for this match.

WAR vs DOL Toss Prediction

The team winning the toss is likely to bat first here.

Pitch and Conditions

The pitch at St. George’s Park is favorable for the quicker bowlers. The wicket has some good bounce, and the green patches on the pitch will make the ball move a bit, making it difficult for the batsmen to score freely. Anything over 200 will be difficult to chase here in the 4th innings. The sky is expected to remain overcast for the next few days, with the temperatures rarely crossing the 20-degree mark.

WAR vs DOL Betting Tips

We are backing the Warriors to win this match. They are coming into this game on the back of an excellent victory in the first match, and have a few players who are in good touch. Meanwhile, the Dolphins are without a few of their key players.
