RSA vs BAN Team Previews

South Africa

The Proteas are currently on fire, winning both their group games. They will be particularly happy after showing incredible fight against the Netherlands in their batting display.

David Miller will be roaring with confidence after a match-winning knock of 59 not out against the Netherlands. His Indian Premier League experience of slower conditions may come to the fore when faced with similar slower conditions in New York. His guidance to the batters around him will be crucial in setting a defendable target or completing another composed run chase.

Quinton de Kock has yet to light up the Proteas batting line-up. His Major League Cricket experience could come in handy when trying to turn around his form. Expect the wicketkeeper-batter's next big score to be right around the corner.

One could argue that not one Proteas bowler has had a bad bowling performance yet this tournament. Each bowler has grabbed at least two wickets so far at a very impressive economy rate. Ottneil Baartman has been outstanding with ball in hand. The fast bowler has picked up five wickets at an unbelievable average of four and an economy of only 2.5 runs per over.

Bangladesh

Much like their counterparts, Bangladesh will be upbeat by the fact that they managed to get over the line in a tense match - against Sri Lanka. They will need to muster every ounce of their character if the game becomes a scrappy low-scoring affair against the Proteas.

Bangladesh will need a combined effort from all their batters if they are to put a competitive total on the board or chase a target against a strong South African bowling line-up. In particular, Soumya Sarkar will need to turn around his recent fortunes with the bat if Bangladesh are to get off to a decent start. In his last seven T20 innings, Sarkar has only managed to pass 30 runs twice and collected scores of zero on three occasions.

Mustafizur Rahman will be heavily relied upon as the leader of the fast bowling group and the variation he brings with the left-arm angle. His three for 17 in four overs against Sri Lanka will certainly boost his confidence going into a big game for Bangladesh.

A leader in many aspects of the game for Bangladesh, Shakib Al Hasan will be key to challenging South Africa. Al Hasan failed with the bat and, with the ball, didn't pick up any wickets in an expensive first game, but expect him to bounce back strongly. He will need to play a big role as the leading spinner in the side, while also dominating in the finishing role at number six in the batting line-up.

RSA vs BAN Toss Prediction

This match will be played at the Nassau County International Cricket Stadium in New York. The ground has hosted five matches in this year's Men's T20 World Cup.

The most frequent result at the venue has been the side chasing coming out as the victors. The popular choice for captains at the toss has also been to bowl first.

Weather on the day may not be a huge factor as it is predicted to be sunny. The captains may look to continue the dominant trend of choosing to bowl first here.

Pitch and Conditions

The pitch has been difficult for batting, with cricket experts even going as far as publicly criticising the standard of the pitch in New York.

No rain is forecast in New York on Monday. The pitch is starting to take more traffic after being used in five games so far. This could make life even more difficult for batting. Teams will have to assess their strategies accordingly for defending a low total or difficult run chases.

RSA vs BAN Betting Tips

Both sides will want to continue their winning streak. A win for South Africa would almost seal their spot in the next round.

Both sides have won chasing lower totals, although they haven't necessarily been comfortable chases.

South Africa will know that they will need a much better powerplay performance than they achieved against the Netherlands. If they manage to start well, they will fancy their chances with what looks like a stronger batting line-up filled with firepower throughout their order.

History will certainly heavily favour South Africa going into this clash. However, expect the Bangladesh line-up to make life difficult for the South Africans in tricky conditions.

The Proteas are priced as 1.30 favourites against 3.50 underdogs Bangladesh.
