Rajasthan Royals
After starting the season on a strong note, the Rajasthan Royals have sputtered a bit in the last couple of weeks. They have lost 3 of the last 4 matches and have given the other teams a chance to catch up with them on the points table.
Rajasthan's poor run in the last few games can be attributed to the dip in the form of its top-order batsmen, Jos Buttler and Sanju Samson. Buttler started well but has been found struggling in his last few outings, while Samson hasn’t been able to fire. Both batters need to readjust their playing tempo a bit and just take a couple of deliveries before really going hard at the opposition.
Shimron Hetmeyer, who was instrumental in leading the team to some good finishes has been dismissed for single-digit scores in his last 4 innings. As the wickets become a bit slower, Hetmyer may find himself struggling and that is somehting to consider for sure.
There are some silver linings for RR though as Yashasvi Jaiswal scored a brilliant century in the last game and has moved to the second spot in the race for the Orange Cap. His imrovement, season to season, has been remarkable and he is now perhaps the most crucial player in the lineup.
Dhruv Jurel has been a good find for the team and will play a key role in the upcoming matches. A lower-order finisher is rae and his ability to clear the boundaries from the start is invaluable. The Royals have a well-balanced bowling attack consisting of quality spinners as well as seamers.
Trent Boult and Sandeep Sharma are once again expected to lead the pace attack, while Ravichandran Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal will be looking to dry up the runs during the middle overs. The surfaces at the Sawai Man Singh Stadium have been a bit slow and so RR may opt to include Adam Zampa once more.

Gujarat Titans
The defending champions have hardly put a foot wrong in this competition but they will be quite disappointed with their latest effort. Chasing a modest target of 131 runs against an under-confident Delhi Capitals, it was a rare misfire by the batsmen as the hosts ultimately fell short by 5 runs.
This was only the second loss that GT has suffered while chasing in its relatively short IPL history.
The Titans will be looking to look at the positives from that match. Hardik Pandya scored his second half-century of the season and Mohammed Shami was unplayable at times. The latter picked up 4 wickets in the game and is now the joint-highest wicket-taker in the season. Of course, Pandya would have liked to finish off the game and his lack of power-hitting seems to be a bigger issue than it first appeared to be.
Talking about the upcoming match, Shubhman Gill will be the key batsman for the team and they will need him to play a big inning here. Vijay Shankar and Sai Sudharsan have played well in patches but the form of Wriddhiman Saha and David Miller remains a bit of a concern for the team.
Is it time for GT to bring back Sai Sudharsan into the lineup and move Pandya down a bit? Pandya and Shankar are excellent spin-hitters and could be crucial in this match against RR where they will be attacked with a lot of high-quality spin.
Mohammed Shami and Josh Little are expected to start with the new ball, while Mohit Sharma will show his skills at the death. Rashid Khan and Noor Ahmed are the two specialist spinners on the team. GT's bowling is varied and has a lot of depth.
We have not seen Tewatia bowl this season but he can bowl pretty decent leg-spin as well. Pandya could take up the new ball duties also.

The pitch here tends to slow down as the game progresses, and there will be some grip and turn for the spinners here. The batsmen will need to get their eye in before they get going. The Sawai Mansingh Stadium isn’t the easiest to bat in, and anything over 180 can get difficult to chase.
The weather is expected to remain a bit warm at around 30 degrees Celsius.

Rajasthan Royals and the Gujarat Titans have been two of the best teams this season and there is little separating the two at this stage. However, we think that the home team enjoys a slight advantage here. We saw how the Titans’ batting struggled on the slow pitch in the game against the Capitals and we can expect a similar surface here. The Royals on the other hand have played a couple of matches here and will be better versed in the conditions.

The Gujarat Titans were seen struggling in the last match where they played on a slow pitch. The surface at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium isn’t the easiest one to bat on either and we think the Titans will find it difficult to score freely here. The risk you have to assume is Shubman Gill getting off to an excellent start but we are willing to do that.
The Royals have one of the strongest opening pairs in the league at the moment. While Jos Buttler has struggled a bit in the last couple of matches, he knows the conditions here pretty well. On the other hand, Wriddhiman Saha hasn’t been in the best of forms and we think he can be dismissed quite early here.
Shami has been in excellent form with the ball and is leading the race for the Purple Cap. He has taken more than 1 wicket in 5 out of his 9 outings this season, including in the previous match against the Royals, where he picked up 3. We are backing him to put up another good performance here.
