Ireland
Ireland currently occupy 11th position in the International Cricket Council's rankings for men's T20I teams. They are four positions lower than seventh-placed Pakistan. Ireland and Pakistan have been placed in the same pool for the group stage of the upcoming T20 World Cup.
Paul Stirling will captain Ireland in this series and the T20 World Cup. He has been playing T20I cricket since 2009 and has so much experience domestically and internationally. Stirling will need to ensure the additional responsibility of the captaincy does not negatively affect his primary role with the bat.
Ireland won't have fast bowler Josh Little for this series. He will instead stay with the Gujarat Titans until the end of the IPL. That's a big absence to the Irish bowling attack, leaving Mark Adair, Graham Hume, Curtis Campher and others to step up without Little around.
