INDW vs AUSW Match Prediction - Dec 09, 2022

Women’s cricket is heating up as India will host five T20 matches against Australia. With the Women’s T20 World Cup taking place in February next year, now’s the time to display great performances and find the right form.

Australia have won the last four games against India, but the home side is looking better than ever and has such an advantage on the domestic pitches. Both countries have been playing incredibly well lately, but who will pick up the first victory?

INDW vs AUSW Team Previews

India Women

India has a tough squad to face the Aussies and have won four out of their last five matches, so the form is solid. Great players like Harmanpreet Kaur (captain), Smriti Mandhana, Jemimah Rodrigues, and Deepti Sharma will all be making an appearance in the five-game series to help their side.

Smriti Mandhana will be exciting to watch and is poised to put on a great batting show, as she’s already picked up 2,437 runs with an average of 27.38 across 98 innings in her T20I career. If India are to win, it’ll almost certainly be through her batting. Jemimah Rodrigues is in fine form, too, raking in 1,490 runs with an average of 31.70 over 57 innings.

We’re more than thrilled to see how Deepti Sharma (81 wickets in 76 innings) and Rajeshwari Gayakwad (54 wickets in 43 innings) will perform on the bowling end, as both are some of the best and fiercest bowlers on the India squad. They could certainly turn the tide by limiting the Aussie batters from getting any shot they want.

India Women Playing 11

Smriti Mandhana, Shafali Verma, Jemimah Rodrigues, Harmanpreet Kaur, Devika Vaidya, Richa Ghosh, Deepti Sharma, Radha Yadav, Anjali Sarwani, Meghna Singh, Renuka Singh.

Australia Women

Australia is sending a great squad to India for the T20 tour, with big WBBL names such as Alyssa Healy (captain), Ashleigh Gardner, Heather Graham, and Beth Mooney, to list a few.

Mooney, in particular, has been excellent in her T20I career, posting total runs of 1,893 with an average of 37.86 across 65 innings. She’ll be very important in the lineup and her experience here is hugely valuable. Heather Graham was simply sublime in the WBBL but only has one game on the T20I stage, so we’ll have to see how she performs.

Much of the bowling focus will be on Jess Jonassen (87 wickets in 90 innings) and Megan Schutt (108 wickets in 83 innings), but be sure to watch out for spinner Alana King, who already has 14 wickets in 11 innings for her T20I career.

INDW vs AUSW Toss Prediction

If India wins the toss, they may look to send Australia to bat first and hopefully limit them to a poor batting total. Thus, making the chase far easier on pitches they know well.

Pitch and Conditions

Although the pitch is bouncy here at times, batting tends to be the focus with average scores around 160-170. Expect the Indian players to be more familiar with how the pitch plays out.

INDW vs AUSW Betting Tips

It’s going to be an incredibly close game with arguably two of the best teams in women’s T20I cricket, and there’s extra drama with the fact that Oz has beaten India four times in a row.

However, India’s squad looks fantastic and playing on home grounds is not to be underestimated. The odds for India are well worth it and they have a strong chance to earn a victory in the first game.

Bet on India to win.
