It has been sort of a mixed bag so far for Gloucestershire. The team has managed to win 3 of the 6 matches it has played and is in the bottom half of the table. However, with 8 matches to go for them including this one, they have plenty of time to catch and claw their way up. They have won their last 2 matches and will be feeling pretty confident as they head to this contest.

Ben Charlesworth and Oliver Price will be the key batsmen for the home team here. Charlesworth is likely to open the batting with Miles Hammond, while Price will walk in at number 3. The middle order is made up of players like Zafar Gohar, skipper James Taylor, Grant Roelofson, and James Bracey.

They haven’t been able to get going so far and will need to step up their game if Gloucestershire wants to continue with its winning momentum. Price has also done a good job with his leg spinners, picking up 9 wickets, and has received good support from Tom Smith, who has 8 against his name.

The pace attack will be led by David Payne, who is the leading wicket-taker for the team. However, the other seamers haven’t been up to the mark. 

Somerset

Somerset has been clinical in its performance this season and won its first 6 matches quite comfortably to reach the top of the points table. However, they faced their first defeat of the year in their latest fixture as they lost to Hampshire.

Somerset still enjoys a 2-point lead over Surrey and a win here will further cement their spot. Tom Banton has done a good job at the top of the order and scored quick runs to give Somerset some good starts. He will partner with Will Smeed, who hasn’t been in the best of forms.

Tom Kohler-Cadmore has done the heavy lifting in the middle order and is the leading run-scorer for the team with 256 runs. However, the others, who play lower down the order, including Tom Lammonby and Lewis Gregory haven’t been fluent. Sean Dickson, who has got a couple of chances in the team, has shown good form and can play an important role going ahead.

Bowling has been a major contributor to Somerset’s success so far. Ben Green has been brilliant, picking up 16 wickets in 7 matches, and has been well supported by Matt Henry. The team also has Peter Siddle in its armory, making Somerset one of the most potent seam attacks of the tournament. Roelof van der Merwe will take care of the spin attack in this match.
