Bhilwara Kings

The Bhilwara Kings are off to a bumpy start this season. They won their opening fixture against India Capitals but were overwhelmed by the Gujarat Giants in the very next match.

The team has a strong batting line-up and will depend on it to deliver the goods. Lendl Simmons was brilliant in the last match as he played a blazing knock of 99 against the Giants, albeit for a losing cause. He will once again be a vital cog in the top order.

Solomon Mire was quite impressive in the season-opener and will open the batting along with Tillakaratne Dilshan. The latter hasn’t been in the best of forms and more will be expected from him. The middle order consists of Yusuf Pathan, Robin Bist, and Pinal Shah, while Irfan Pathan will play the role of a finisher.

In the bowling department, the seamers haven’t had much success, barring Anureet Singh’s 4fer against India Capitals. However, Rahul Sharma and Jesal Karia have got wickets in both matches. 

Manipal Tigers

The Manipal Tigers are off to a positive start as they defeated the Gujarat Giants by 10 runs in their opening fixture. They are currently second on the points table and a win in this match can take them to the top.

It was a good batting effort by the top order with Robin Uthappa, Chadwick Walton, and Hamilton Masakadza all contributing valuable runs. Thisara Perera played an excellent cameo towards the end to take the team to a match-winning total.

There are some lofty strokeplayers in the batting order, including Colin de Grandhomme and Kyle Coetzer, and the team will need them to put up some runs during the middle overs. In the second innings, Parwinder Awana was excellent with the new ball as well as towards the end and picked up 4 wickets.

Skipper Harbhajan Singh and Thisara Perera bowled good spells to pick up 2 wickets a piece. The Tigers have a well-balanced team and will look to put up another winning performance.
