Bangla Tigers

The Bangla Tigers have been a bit inconsistent this season but come into this contest on the back of consecutive wins in their last two matches. As 7 teams are in contention for the top 4 slots, the Tigers cannot afford to relax and will look to put up another good performance here.

Jordan Cox has by far been the most consistent performer with the bat for the Tigers this season. He has scored 2 half-centuries in his last 4 innings and will once again open the batting. However, he has received very little support at the other end as both, Chris Lynn and Avishka Fernando have failed to get going.

Similarly, while Kusal Mendis has batted well in the middle order, the other batsmen like David Miller, Carlos Brathwaite, and Dasun Shanaka have failed to score runs. Coming to the bowling, Daniel Sams is the pick of the bowlers with 6 wickets. His spell of 3 wickets for 11 runs was instrumental in helping the Tigers defeat Team Abu Dhabi on Monday.

He will be joined by Benny Howell and Brathwaite at the other end, who have picked up 3 wickets each. Haider Ali is the only specialist spinner on the team. 

Morrisville Samp Army

The Samp Army lost its opening fixture against the Northern Warriors but has managed to turn things around ever since. They enter this contest in the back 3 consecutive wins and a win here will catapult them to the top spot on the points table.

Ibrahim Zadran and Andries Gous are likely to open the batting for Morrisville in this match. The duo hasn’t been in the best of forms but as we near the end of the group stages, they will be eager to score some runs. The middle order consists of Faf du Plessis, who is the leading run-scorer for the team, as well as Najibullah Zadran and Basil Hameed.

The two all-rounders, Moeen Ali and Karim Janat have done a decent job so far but more will be expected from them. Ali has picked up 5 wickets so far and will head the spin attack alongside Qais Ahmed. Jason Holder is the leading wicket-taker for the Samp Army with 7 wickets and will look for better support from Salman Irshad, who has been rather expensive.
