Australia will go into this match on the back of victories over Zimbabwe Under-19 and Namibia Under-19. They were not tested to the fullest in those two matches. This fixture against the Sri Lankans will be their biggest challenge of the tournament so far. We are in for an intriguing fixture.

Hugh Weibgen and Harry Dixon have been the team's top performers with the bat this tournament. Weibgen has 107 runs in two innings to Dixon's 105 in two. Both should be key in this match as well, but will require support from Sam Konstas and company.

Harkirat Bajwa, Callum Vidler and Mahli Beardman have been Australia's most prolific bowlers at the Under-19 World Cup in South Africa. Each of the three have taken wickets and could benefit from the conditions at the Mangaung Oval in Bloemfontein again.

Sri Lanka U19

Sri Lanka will also head into this match after beating Namibia and Zimbabwe. Like Australia, Sri Lanka have already qualified for the next stage of the tournament. This fixture against the Aussies should provide the Sri Lankans with a genuine test of their mettle before advancing from the group stage.

Dinura Kalupahana and Supun Waduge are the team's leading run-scorers this tournament, but their numbers are not as big as those achieved by Weibgen and Dixon. Kalupahana has 60 and Waduge 56. Waduge's runs came in one innings against Namibia. Australia might be able to expose Sri Lanka's limited batting resources this time.

Ruvishan Perera and Vishwa Lahiru have taken five wickets each at the 2024 Under-19 World Cup. Both look to be future stars. They, too, could benefit from bowling-friendly conditions in Bloemfontein. But they will be well tested by Dixon and company.
