Team Abu Dhabi

Team Abu Dhabi finished 3rd on the points table last season but lost out to the Deccan Gladiators during the Eliminator. As they begin a fresh season, Abu Dhabi will look to begin on a positive note.

James Vince and Chris Lynn were the top run-getters for Abu Dhabi last season. However, none of them are available this time around. Instead, the team will rely on Alex Hales to give them a good start. He is likely to be joined by either Colin Ingram or Phil Salt at the top of the order.

Other batsmen in the line-up include Alishan Sharafu, Asif Khan, and Leus du Plooy. Team Abu Dhabi also has some quality all-rounders at its disposal. These include Kyle Mayers, Dwaine Pretorius, and Keemo Paul. Coming to the bowling, Dilshan Madushanka was brilliant in the recently concluded ODI World Cup and is likely to lead the pace attack alongside Tymall Mills and Rumman Raees.

The spin attack consists of Afghanistan international Noor Ahmad and Allah Ghaznafar. 

Chennai Braves

The Braves had a disappointing outing last season as they managed to win just 2 of the 7 matches played. The Braves have a lot of scope for improvement and will aim for a top-4 finish during the group stage.

Chennai will bank on the all-rounders, Charith Asalanka and Sikandar Raza to perform well this season, especially as they miss out on the services of Carlos Braithwaite, who was their leading wicket-taker as well as run-scorer last time around.

There are some quality batsmen at the top of the order. Jason Roy and George Munsey are both capable of scoring briskly, while Vriitya Aravind knows the local conditions pretty well. The Braves have a strong seam department at their disposal, consisting of Obed McCoy, Sam Cook, Richard Ngrava, Junaid Siddiqui, and Hasan Ali.

However, the spin department is a bit understaffed with Imran Tahir being the only quality spinner.
