Rishabh Pant is one of India’s most famous cricket players. He is known globally for his exceptional batting and wicket-keeping skills. Pant was born on October 4, 1997, to Saroj Pant and Rajendra Pant. 

Pant started practising at Sonnet Cricket Academy with coach Tarak Sinha. He then played against Assam on the Delhi Under-19 team, starting his cricket career.

Pant played his first match in 2018 against England, where he made 114 runs, which became his first century ever. He also partnered with KL Rahul for a total of 204 runs.

With a list of achievements at a very young age, Rishabh Pant does not fail to impress:

• In IPL 2024, Rishabh Pant scored 446 runs in 13 games, becoming the first person from India to score over 300 runs. 

• Rishabh Pant matched the world record for taking 11 catches in a test match against AUS in December 2018.

• During the 2019 World Cup, Pant became the first wicket-keeper batsman to score fifty against Australia in a WC.

Rishab Pant Awards

Pant received the Khel Ratna Award in 2020 from the Government Of India’s Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports for his outstanding batting and wicket-keeping skills.

Rishabh won the Polly Umrigar Award in December 2020 for being among the top performers at the International Cricket chosen by the BCCI. 

The Government of India awarded the Arjuna Award to Rishab Pant in 2019 for sporting excellence in Cricket.

On December 30, 2022, Pant met with a car accident on the Dehradun-Delhi highway near Roorkee. He had severe injuries on his head, back, and feet, including two cuts on his forehead and a ligament tear in the right knee.
