IND vs WI Betting Tips

Shubman Gill to score Over 39.5 runs in 1st innings

Shubman Gill has been in excellent form, especially in Test matches, in recent months. He has scored at least 40 runs during the first innings of 3 of the last 6 matches, including two centuries and a half-century. We are therefore backing him to play a good knock here.

Highest opening partnership - India

Yashasvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul form a strong opening pair and have an average of over 38 in 19 innings. It includes 4 stands of 50+ runs and a double-hundred partnership. We are backing them to give India a solid start here.

IND vs WI Team Previews

India

India continued its dominance over the West Indies in the red-ball format with a clinical win in Ahmedabad. The match was wrapped up within three days and should give the home team plenty of confidence.

India’s batting line-up is likely to remain unchanged. KL Rahul scored his first century at home after a gap of 9 years and will look to give India a solid start alongside Yashasvi Jaiswal. Sai Sudharsan hasn’t been able to emulate his excellent record from the domestic circuit on the international arena, but the team is likely to give him a long rope, especially as Shubman Gill, Ravindra Jadeja, and Dhruv Jurel are all in sublime touch.

Jadeja has been in especially good form for the last few months, and scored a century while also picking up 4 wickets in the previous match. He, along with Washington Sundar and Nitish Reddy, offers plenty of depth to the batting line-up.

India might be tempted to rest Jasprit Bumrah for this game and replace him with Prasidh Krishna. Mohammed Siraj and Kuldeep Yadav will most likely retain their place.

India Expected Playing 11

West Indies

The West Indies will be very disappointed with the way they performed in the first Test match. They struggled in all departments and will have to work hard to turn things around.

With Tagenarine Chanderpaul struggling in both innings, he could be dropped for this match, making way for either Kevlon Anderson or Tevin Imlach, who will join John Campbell at the top of the order. However, there aren’t many options when it comes to the middle order.

The likes of Brandon King, Shai Hope, and Roston Chase are among the most experienced batsmen in the squad, and the team will need at least a couple of them to stay on and play a big knock. There are also a couple of youngsters, Alick Athanaze and Justin Greaves, who are talented batsmen but haven’t been able to showcase their full potential.

The seamers were seen struggling against India’s strong batting line-up, and that is another area where the West Indies needs to work hard. Jayden Seales, Johann Layne, and Justin Greaves will need to bowl a better line and length. Jomel Warrican, Khary Pierre, and Roston Chase bowled better in comparison and will continue to play an important role.

West Indies Expected Playing 11

Tagenarine Chanderpaul, John Campbell, Shai Hope (WK), Alick Athanaze, Roston Chase (C), Brandon King, Justin Greaves, Alzarri Joseph, Jayden Seales, Jomel Warrican, Khary Pierre

IND vs WI Toss Prediction

Only two of the last 10 matches played here were won while batting first, while two games ended in a draw. 6 games were won while chasing in the 4th innings. In each of those 10 games, the team winning the toss opted to field first. However, we feel that bowling first might be the way to go.

Pitch Report and Weather Conditions

The pitch at the Arun Jaitley Stadium is likely to offer a good contest between the bat and the ball. The average first-inning score here is around 350. There has been some rain here over the past week, and there will be some moisture on the pitch, which will help the seamers, especially when the ball is new.

However, as the day progresses, the pitch does ease out, and playing shots will get easier. The spinners can expect some turn on the last couple of days. Anything over 250 might be tricky to chase in the fourth inning.

The weather is likely to remain clear with temperatures reaching a maximum of 31 degrees.

IND vs WI: Who Will Win?

We are backing India to win this match. They were clinical in their performance during the previous match, and we expect them to continue playing well. The West Indies have plenty of problems to ponder over and are unlikely to bounce back anytime soon.

Bet on India to win.
