Bet on the English to win the toss. There is a 50 percent chance of England winning the toss. If England win the toss, they will likely want to bowl first.
Salt has had some brilliant T20 performances in recent times. He averaged almost 40 at a strike rate just over 180 in his 2024 Indian Premier League season. The opener also earned the player of the series award in the T20I series of England's tour to the West Indies at the end of 2023.
Rashid will want to extract some turn in sunny conditions. If the leg-spinner manages to find his perfect lines and lengths, he is sure to outfox Oman's batters.
Ilyas will be desperate to prove why he is one of Oman's best ever T20I batters. He currently stands on nine T20I half-centuries. He could be the first Omani batter to break into the double digit number of T20I half-centuries.
Khan has backed up wicket-taking ability with an incredible strike rate of eight and an impressive bowling average of 10,16. His economy rate of 7,62 is also useful.
England and Oman will meet in group B of the T20 World Cup 2024. This will be a bottom of the table clash in group B. England only have one point to show for their efforts and Oman have lost all three of their games.

England are currently under pressure of not qualifying to the next round. Their qualification is not entirely in their hands, but they'll want to win to at least stay alive - especially against a team they would be expected to beat convincingly.
Jos Buttler will want to get England off to a flyer in the powerplay. He top scored in a losing cause against Australia with 42 runs off 28 balls. If the England captain gets going, he will be impossible to stop. Equally, Buttler's opening partner, Phil Salt, will want to propel England to a mammoth total. Salt was England's top run-scorer with 331 runs in the T20I leg of their tour to the West Indies in December 2023.
Adil Rashid will want to recover from a disappointing performance in his previous game. The legspinner has played a key role as England's leading spinner in white-ball cricket for a number of years. He has every chance of bouncing back strongly. Expect the spin duo of Rashid and Moeen Ali to be a handful.
Oman have lost all three of their group games. It is impossible for them to progress in the tournament, but they won't want to leave empty-handed. They will want to make life difficult for a vulnerable English outfit.
Ayan Khan has been steady without playing an innings which has blown away an opposition. The left-hand batter will want to play a match-winning knock. Oman's batting lineup has been heavily reliant on him to perform.
Mehran Khan has been the best Omani bowler with six wickets. Khan stands head and shoulders above his bowling teammates by taking only one wicket less than the rest of the bowling group combined. He will know he is a better bowler than the one who got hit for 16 runs in his one over against Scotland.
Aqib Ilyas will want to prove his leadership worth after a disappointing tournament so far. The Omani skipper has only managed 34 runs and two wickets. He will want a much better all-round performance to pull off an upset against the defending T20 World Cup champions.
This match will be played at the Sir Vivian Richards Stadium in Antigua and Barbuda.
Oman were involved in the first game of the tournament hosted at the venue. They were hugely outplayed by a Scotland batting unit that chased down the target inside the 14th over.
The five most recent T20I results at the venue have all had the team batting second coming out on top. The weather is expected to be hot and humid throughout the game leaving both teams with conditions suited to batting. The captains may be inclined to bowl first.
No rain is forecast in Antigua and Barbuda on Thursday.
Both teams are expected to face similar hot and humid conditions throughout the game.
This will be only the third game of the tournament on this pitch. It wouldn't be expected to break up meaning both sides should experience similar good batting conditions.
England will fancy their chances against Oman not only because they desperately need the win, but also because this is the type of game where they would be expected to win.
Both sides will be hurt by their recent losses, but England will know it is now or never for them if they are to progress. Expect the English to come out guns blazing in a game where they start as major favourites to win.
Oman will be playing for pride. Their batting unit have yet to show that they can put up a competitive batting performance. They risk being outpowered by a strong England batting lineup.
