The most prolific six hitter in the Indian team, to get close to 50% return on this market is brilliant. Bet big on this one as it has a great chance of paying out.
We have seen batters struggle in Barbados generally. The previous three matches have seen 13, 14, and 14 wickets fall. Looking at the quality of bowling on both sides, we have decided to bet Over 13.5 for this match.
Afghanistan will be the heavy underdog when it takes on India in what will be the first Super-8 match for both teams. India is unbeaten heading into this contest while Afghanistan has also been very impressive, apart from the big defeat it suffered at the hands of the West Indies.
No one can take Afghanistan lightly, especially on pitches where the spinners are expected to get some more help than normal. Is there an upset in store?
Both teams have played each other 7 times with India winning all seven of those contests. The most recent of those contests actually ended in a tie which was then won by India in a Super Over.
AFG v IND is going to be streamed live on Hot star and will also be broadcast on the Star Sports network of channels.
Afghanistan is no longer considered a lesser cricketing nation but any serious cricket fan or analyst. It has a team that is capable of beating any other team and so writing it off is absolutely foolish. In fact, the odds being offered on Afghanistan are quite long considering the recent performances of the team.
Sure, it was beaten by the West Indies but it crushed New Zealand just a couple of matches prior to that.
The best performers for Afghanistan have been Rahmanullah Gurbaz with the bat (167 runs to his name) and Fazalhaq Farooqi (12 wickets to his name). That is more runs and more wickets than any Individual Indian cricketer has managed but India has played all its matches at the treacherous New York pitch.
Rashid Khan and Azmatullah Omarzai have also been in good form. The problem for Afghanistan seems to be a lack of runs after the openers get out and not enough pressure being exerted with the ball from both ends. Against a team like India, any weaknesses are going to be exposed and we see Afghanistan struggling for control in this match.
Picking up wickets regularly with the ball is going to be key, as is being brave with the bat. We have no doubt that Afghanistan will come out firing but history and statistical matchups are against it in this contest.
India has managed to win all of its matches so far with the match against Pakistan being its most impressive win. There is an air of assuredness about this Indian cricket team that we have become used to seeing, especially in the earlier stages of world events.
The individual records from the Indian players in this tournament have not been impressive but almost all the big names have made a sizeable contribution. Rishab Pant is the top-scorer for Indian with 96 runs, Hardik Pandya and Arshdeep Singh have seven wickets each, Jasprit Bumrah has been magical with the ball, while Rohit Sharm and Axar Patel have played useful cameos as well.
Two big names are missing from this list of contributors. Virat Kohli and Ravindra Jadeja. Both these players have had a quiet start but we expect that to change. Kohli has started taking a lot more risks in the powerplay and so a few failures will come but he is too good to miss out for long.
Jadeja is also expected to enjoy the conditions in the West Indies a lot more.
India is unlikely to change its combination for this match. It has the batting depth with Axar coming in at number 8 and bowling quality that other teams would kill for. If it plays to potential, it should dominate this contest.
61% of the matches played this venue have been won by the team batting first. That is a pretty significant advantage to have and we expect the team that wins the toss to bat first once more.
The average first-inning total at this venue is 153 while the highest score recorded was 224. We expect something around 160 to be very competitive once more. The spinners will play a crucial role and batters that can clear the boundaries are going to be vital for both teams.
The weather forecast suggests a 25% chance of rain, which is almost always the case in the island regions.
We are going to bet on India to win this match. There is no doubt that Afghanistan is dangerous and can pull off an upset but India is not an easy team to topple. The batting advantage that India has over Afghanistan is massive and may well turn out to be too much for the Afghans to overcome.
India's pace bowling attack is also vastly superior to Afghanistan's.
Bet on India to win.
