The Sunrisers appear to be a shadow of what they were last season. They had finished in second place on the points table and went on to finish as the runners-up of the tournament. However, this season hasn’t been the best for them, and with the latest loss against GT, they are on the brink of getting eliminated.

The opening pair which was SRH’s powerhouse last time around has been rather inconsistent this year. Abhishek Sharma and Travis Head have played a couple of good knocks but their form hasn’t been the same.

Heinrich Klaasen has been a decent performer in the middle order but the likes of Ishan Kishan, Nitish Reddy, and Aniket Verma have struggled. Harshal Patel is the team’s leading wicket-taker with 13 wickets and will be supported by Pat Cummins. Jaydev Unadkat picked up 3 wickets in the previous match and is likely to retain his place in the playing XI.

Mohammed Shami and Zeeshan Ansari’s performance hasn’t been up to the mark and have managed to pick only 6 wickets each.

While they are very much in the race for the next stage, DC needs to turn things around before it gets too late.

The Capitals are likely to continue with their regular opening pair of Abishek Porel and Faf du Plessis in this game. Du Plessis scored a brilliant half-century in the previous match and will look to do the same in this match as well.

Porel has played well in patches but needs to be more consistent going ahead. Similarly, the likes of Tristan Stubbs, Karun Nair, and Ashutosh Sharma need to stay longer so that they can help the team put up a strong total. KL Rahul is the team’s leading run-scorer this year, while Axar Patel has played a couple of good cameos.
