Highest opening partnership Royal Challengers Bangalore
The opening pair of Mumbai Indians has been inconsistent. Also, with Rohit Sharma suffering a niggle in his knee, his availability for this match isn’t confirmed. On the other hand, RCB’s openers have put up a partnership of at least 45 runs in two of the last 3 games.
Suryakumar Yadav to score over 28.5 runs
Suryakumar Yadav is Mumbai’s leading run-scorer this season and has scored at least 29 runs in 3 of his last 4 matches. He has an excellent record at the Wankhede and has an average of almost 40 runs per inning. He has scored 3 half-centuries in his last 4 outings against RCB and we are backing him to play another good knock.
The Royal Challengers Bangalore will look to get back to winning ways as they travel to Mumbai next week. The two teams will clash at the Wankhede stadium on Monday.

The two teams have faced each other in 33 matches to date. The Mumbai Indians have a slight edge with 19 wins compared to 14 for the Royal Challengers.
This match will be available to view on the JioHotstar streaming platform or on the Star Sports network of channels.
The Mumbai Indians haven’t had the best of times this season, as they have lost 3 of their 4 matches so far. The team is currently placed seventh on the points table.
The batting has been one of the weakest links in the Mumbai team this year. Rohit Sharma and Ryan Rickleton have been inconsistent as an opening pair. Rickleton did score a half-century earlier this season but other than that, he has struggled against the new ball.
Rohit Sharma’s poor form is a very big concern for MI. His fitness is also under the scanner as he missed the team’s latest fixture due to a knee issue. The middle order has performed slightly better with Suryakumar Yadav and Naman Dhir leading the charge. However, they have received little support from Tilak Varma, who has been one of MI’s key batsmen in the previous edition.
Mumbai is also awaiting clearance for Jasprit Bumrah as in his absence, the pace attack looks blunt. While Trent Boult, Deepak Chahar, and Hardik Pandya have bowled well in patches, they lack the consistency of Bumrah. Vignesh Puthur has bowled well during the middle overs to pick up 5 wickets.

The Royal Challengers started off well, winning the first two games of the season. However, the team suffered its first defeat on Wednesday when they lost to the Gujarat Titans by 8 wickets. Nevertheless, they are still placed 3rd on the points table.
Phil Salt and Virat Kohli make up for a strong opening pair but they have been a bit inconsistent so far. Both of them are good players of the new ball and have scored individual half-centuries as well, but they need to give RCB a strong platform during the powerplay.
The middle order is made up of Devdutt Padikkal, Rajat Patidar, Jitesh Sharma, and Liam Livingstone, all of whom have plenty of experience playing in the IPL. Livingstone was in sublime form against Gujarat as he scored a half-century, albeit for a losing cause. RCB will also bank on all-rounders Krunal Pandya and Tim David to play the big shots at the death overs.
Coming to the bowling, RCB has a strong seam attack that is led by Josh Hazlewood and Bhuvaneshwar Kumar. Hazlewood is among the top three wicket-takers of the season with 6 wickets, while Bhuvaneshwar has been miserly when it comes to the economy rate.
The team could also avail themselves of Rasikh Dar Salam’s services if the need arises. RCB has a quality spinner in Suyash Sharma who can play an important role at the Wankhede.
Phil Salt (WK), Virat Kohli, Devdutt Padikkal, Rajat Patidar (C), Liam Livingstone, Jitesh Sharma, Krunal Pandya, Tim David, Josh Hazlewood, Bhuvaneshwar Kumar, Yash Dayal.
Half of the last 10 matches played here have been won while batting first, while the other half were won while chasing. In all those games, the team winning the toss had opted to field first and we expect that trend to continue.
The Wankhede stadium has been a high-scoring venue and it will be the same for this match as well. The track is flat and hard, offering excellent pace and bounce. The wicket remains true throughout the match allowing to play their shots with confidence.
The wicket remains almost the same throughout the match and the bowlers will have to be very accurate with their line and length. The team batting first will look to score at least 200 runs.
The weather will likely remain warm and clear with temperatures around 30 degrees. There may or may not be some dew during the second innings.

We are backing the Royal Challengers Bangalore to win this match. While they did lose the previous match, they played better cricket than MI. The latter’s key players are yet to reach peak form and the team has struggled to grab key moments. We find it astonishing that MI is still the favorite heading into this match.
The bookmakers seem to be overestimating MI and we think you should take advantage!
MI vs RCB win percentage stands at 53% in favor of MI.
