Tom Kohler-Cadmore and Johnson Charles have played well in the last couple of matches and have scored more than 22 runs as a pair in the last two games. As they play on a good batting track, we expect them to put up another good partnership.
Tom Kohler-Cadmore has been the most consistent batsman for the Warriorz. He has an average of 54.25 and has scored at least 29 runs in 4 of his last 6 innings, including 2 half-centuries. We are therefore backing him to play well.
The Abu Dhabi Knight Riders will look to get back to winning ways as they take on the Sharjah Warriorz for a crucial match in the ILT20 series. The two teams will face off on Thursday at the Sharjah International Cricket Stadium.
The two teams have faced each other in 3 games. The Knight Riders have won twice while the Sharjah Warriorz have won once.
This match can be watched live on the FanCode App and Zee5 app.
The Sharjah Warriorz haven’t had the best of seasons so far and are languishing at the bottom of the table. However, they did win their latest fixture on Tuesday to stay alive in the contest and must win here to keep their playoff chances alive.
Johnson Charles and Tom Kohler-Cadmore have been the most consistent batsmen for the Warriorz this year and have scored 2 half-centuries each. Their 123-run partnership in the previous game not only helped the team earn two points but also improved their NRR.
In addition, Jason Roy and Avishka Fernando have looked good in the middle order but they need to be more consistent going ahead. In the bowling department, Adam Zampa, who was having a relatively quiet outing this year finally found some form as he picked up 2 wickets.
Rohan Mustafa and Ashton Agar will join him in the spin department. Adam Milne and Tim Southee continue to lead the attack with the new ball.
Just like their opponents, the Knight Riders have struggled as well and if they lose here, they will slip down from the top four.
A lot will depend on the opening pair of Kyle Mayers and Andries Gous. While both of them are explosive batsmen, they are yet to showcase their full potential. Andre Russell, who is seen as one of the best all-rounders in the shortest format has struggled as well and is averaging under 30 runs per inning.
Charith Asalanka and Alishan Sharafu did seem to be in decent form in the last match and the team will hope that they continue playing well. In the seam department, Jason Holder has been the pick of the bowlers with 13 wickets. He will expect better support from David Willey and Ali Khan, who have only 10 wickets between them.
Sunil Narine, who is usually good at picking up wickets, has struggled to do so, managing just 2 scalps.
The team winning the toss will likely opt to bowl first.
The Sharjah International Stadium offers good batting tracks and we can expect plenty of runs. The surface might be a touch slower as it has been used quite a bit over the last couple of weeks but once the batsmen get through the PowerPlay, scoring runs gets easier. There might be some dew during the second half and gripping the ball, especially the spinners, will get difficult.
The team batting first will look to score around 180 runs. The weather will remain clear with temperatures of around 21 degrees.
We are backing the Sharjah Warriorz to win this match. They have a strong opening pair at their disposal and a well-balanced bowling attack. The Knight Riders, despite having some excellent players, are struggling and have consistently underperformed this season.
Bet on the Sharjah Warriorz to win.
