The Dubai International Cricket Stadium offers the batsmen plenty of opportunities to score runs. 3 of the last 4 matches played here have seen at least one individual score of more than 65 runs. We are therefore expecting a similar outcome here.
Two of the weakest and most inconsistent batting units are taking on each other in this match. We think the Over/Under line is quite high and we recommend betting 'Under' for this one.
The Gulf Giants will play their last group-stage match on Saturday as they take on the Abu Dhabi Knight Riders in a bottom-of-the-table clash at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium.
The two teams have faced each other in 3 games so far. The Knight Riders have won two matches while the Giants have won once.
This match can be watched live on the FanCode App and Zee5 app.
With 3 losses in the last 4 games, the Abu Dhabi Knight Riders are struggling at the moment. The team is languishing at the 5th place on the points table and faces a must-win situation here.
The batting has been underwhelming, to say the least. Despite having some of the best T20 batsmen in the squad, like Kyle Mayers, Andre Russell, and Roston Chase, the Abu Dhabi Knight Riders have often struggled to put up big scores.
Alishan Sharafu is the team’s leading run-scorer with 199 runs but has a batting average of just over 28 runs per inning. Andries Gous has failed to get going against the new ball, while Joe Clarke, who is known for his ability to play the big shots, has a strike rate of under 145.00.
The bowlers, except for Jason Holder, have struggled as well. Holder has picked up 15 wickets and is among the top three wicket-takers of the tournament. However, he has received little support from his fellow seamers David Willey, Ibrar Ahmed, and Terrance Hinds, who have only 10 wickets among themselves.
Sunil Narine has struggled as well, managing to pick up just 4 wickets in 8 games.
The Gulf Giants lost their latest fixture against MI Emirates on Friday and are still at the bottom of the table. The Giants must win this match by a big margin to improve their NRR and will still have to depend on the outcome of other games to know their fate regarding the playoffs.
James Vince scored a half-century in the last match and remains the key batsman for the team. He hasn’t been in the best of forms with the bat so far but if the Giants want to win here, they will need Vince to give them a good start.
In addition to Vince, the Gulf Giants have batsmen like Jordan Cox, Gerhard Erasmus, and Shimron Hetmeyer. While all of them have played some good knocks, they lack consistency. The Gulf Giants have plenty of seamers in their playing eleven but except for Blessing Muzarabani and Mark Adair, none of them have been able to contain the opposition batsmen.
Muzarabani has picked up 15 wickets while Adair has 11. Aayan Afzal Khan is the team’s most successful spinner with 10 wickets.
The team winning the toss will likely opt to bat first.
The pitch at the Sheikh Zayed Stadium has been good to bat on this year and we have seen some big totals. The flat surface offers excellent pace and bounce and the batsmen will be able to play the big shots. The team batting first will look to score at least 180-190 runs.
The pitch will slow down a bit in the second innings and the spinners will get some grip and turn. However, once the batsmen settle down, they will be able to score runs easily.
The weather will remain pleasant with temperatures of around 21 degrees.
The Abu Dhabi Knight Riders and Gulf Giants are both struggling at the moment and will be desperate for a win here. There is no clear favorite to win this game but we feel that Knight Riders have a slight edge here thanks to a well-balanced bowling attack and some big strikers of the ball.
Bet on the Abu Dhabi Knight Riders to win.
