The Mumbai Indians will face the Delhi Capitals on 21 May in Mumbai. This pivotal IPL 2025 clash will determine the final playoff spot. With Mumbai currently holding 14 points and Delhi at 13, a win for Mumbai Indians would secure their qualification.
A Delhi Capitals victory would keep their hopes alive heading into their last league match. That will take a monumental effort though, after a devastating ten-wicket loss to Gujarat Titans.

Mitchell Starc, Donovan Ferreira and Jake Fraser-McGurk will be unavailable for Delhi Capitals. The Mumbai Indians have no unavailabilities to worry about yet. That may only change towards the play-off stage, if they make it that far.
The conditions from above may not be the kindest with a potentially stop-start game. Temperatures will be more than 30 degrees Celsius with the humidity as a huge factor. The bowlers could make their profits with the new ball and in the powerplay, but the Wankhede Stadium pitch has usually offered something for the batters too.
Mumbai scored 155 for eight in 20 overs in their previous home game.
The South African wicketkeeper-batter Ryan Rickelton has made a notable impact in his debut IPL season. The left-hander has 336 runs this IPL season with three half-centuries. KL Rahul is a stellar T20 performer with over 8000 runs across all T20s. His list of milestones includes seven T20 hundreds.
Suryakumar Yadav is and has been one of the tournament’s top contenders for the Orange Cap race with 510 runs at an average of 63.75 and a strike rate of 170.56. The former Mumbai Indians captain Rohit Sharma has had a mixed season but has currently produced three half-centuries and a strike rate over 150 despite the struggles at times. Faf du Plessis’ top score this tournament came in his third last innings when he hit 62 against Kolkata Knight Riders.
The English all-rounder Will Jacks has hit over 400 runs in his IPL appearances, while smacking at a strike rate of over 150. The South African all-rounder Corbin Bosch has done more damage with the bat this season. He has two scores in the 20s and one wicket. Axar Patel is a key player as Delhi’s captain. His previous innings with the bat was a quick 25 runs.
Left-arm pacer Trent Boult has taken 139 wickets in 116 IPL matches, with a best of four for 18. Despite a later introduction to the IPL this year, Jasprit Bumrah has been effective with a four-wicket haul already. Mustafizur Rahman recently had a T20I stint with his national team. He took two wickets against the United Arab Emirates.
Jasprit Bumrah is someone who you can trust for the big moments. The right-arm fast bowler will run in strongly with his unorthodox action. His form of eight wickets in his past three innings should give him the confidence to add to his 13 wickets for IPL 2025.
Suryakumar Yadav has been one of those home-grown Mumbai sons which the city will be proud to have produced. Yadav has 4104 runs in the IPL with his 27 fifties and two hundreds.
The weather may impact your choice of players. With the dampish weather around, the bowlers who know how to control the moving ball on and off the deck will be key to include in your lineup.
The fast-bowling all-rounders will certainly get you licking your lips with the potential to break the game open with bat and ball. They may get the best of conditions if their team bowls first too.
The batters who can build an innings should do well in your Dream11 team. They will likely need to manage tougher conditions early on but will have their opportunities to blast off after getting set with a start.
Suryakumar Yadav is soaring away with 1054 Dream11 points now
Suryakumar Yadav at 510 runs leads the charts. KL Rahul with 493 runs is not far behind him.
New Zealander Trent Boult is well in front here with 18 wickets in 12 matches
It has been sixes galore with Suryakumar Yadav hitting 26 sixes in 12 innings
Naman Dhir’s strike rate sits at 172.34. The next few batters of Suryakumar Yadav, Hardik Pandya and Ashutosh Sharma are all clustered around similar numbers.
Naman Dhir’s economy of four remains the best. Although, it would be safer to assume that Jasprit Bumrah with 6.69 and Kuldeep Yadav with 6.98 are a better reflection of bowlers with the best economies.
