We are two weeks into the current season of the IPL and have already witnessed some close contests. Another such contest is lined up next week as the Mumbai Indians host the Royal Challengers Bangalore for an exciting game at the Wankhede.
The Wankhede stadium has been viewed as an MI fortress but that hasn’t been the case over the last 5 games, of which MI has lost 3. Their top order is yet to fire and the middle order has been sluggish as well. The Royal Challengers on the other hand started off well, winning two of the first three games. As they look to retain their place in the top four, RCB will look to put up another good batting effort.

Rohit Sharma missed the previous match due to a knee problem and an update regarding his availability for this match is awaited.
The Wankhede Stadium offers excellent batting surfaces and we can expect a high-scoring game. We would therefore recommend picking up a batsmen-heavy team. The bowlers usually struggle to perform here but we will be picking up some quality seamers who can bowl a good line and length.
The weather is likely to be clear and dew is unlikely to play a big role.
Both teams have quality wicket-keepers in the form of Phil Salt and Ryan Rickleton. Jitesh Sharma has also been a consistent performer in the IPL and can be included in the XI.
Given the batting-friendly nature of the venue, we will be picking the top performers from both sides. Suryakumar Yadav, Virat Kohli, and Tilak Varma are our top picks here.
Hardik Pandya picked up a fifer in the previous game and has also performed well with the bat. He is our first pick in the all-rounder category. Our other pick is Liam Livingstone.
The bowlers have usually struggled at the Wankhede. Nevertheless, we are tempted to include Trent Boult and Josh Hazlewood.
We are picking Hardik Pandya as our captain in this game. He is a versatile player who can contribute with both, the bat and the ball. He also has a good record against RCB.
Suryakumar Yadav has an excellent record at the Wankhede. His powerful striking ability allows him to play the big shots with ease and if he gets going, Yadav can be a big asset for any team.
Looking at the recent stats, we are expecting a game that will be dominated by the batsmen. This is why we are recommending a team that is heavy with batting talented and only limited bowlers. Picking up an all-rounder who has been performing well with the bat and the ball as a captain is also a big plus.
Hardik Pandya has 478 points at an average of 95 points per game (Last 5 T20s)
Rajat Patidar (244), Virat Kohli (182), Suryakumar Yadav (173)
Josh Hazlewood (9), Hardik Pandya (8), Ashwani Kumar (8)
Suryakumar Yadav (8), Liam Livingstone (7), Tim David (5)
Tim David (207.69), Naman Dhir (172.34), Phil Salt (170)
Bhuvaneshwar Kumar (6.14), Yash Dayal (7.00), Josh Hazlewood (7.26)
