The Kolkata Knight Riders may feel they have a better chance of winning by returning to the surrounds of home supporters. They will know in the back of their minds that Gujarat’s previous loss came away from home.
The away team’s batting has got them over the line many a time this season. They seem to be finding their feet as the group stage starts to move towards its ending. The Titans will be looking upwards on the table. With a resounding win in their previous game, they will look to make the gap between them and the hosts bigger.
The form of both teams may give a strong indication of which team takes the cake in this fixture.

Neither team has injury concerns from their last matches
The blazing temperatures and humidity will be factors to consider for the pitch at the Eden Gardens. The pace and bounce of the wicket is likely to be consistent throughout, but maybe a fraction better for the spinners in the second innings. More than half of the games at this ground have been won by the side batting second. The average first innings total is just below 170 and the highest total chased on the ground is over 260.
Two quality international wicketkeepers will be available. Jos Buttler of Gujarat may be edging the battle though after some of his stellar knocks in the IPL. The English cricketer has seven IPL hundreds and 22 half-centuries. Three of those half-centuries are from this season alone. The South African de Kock has an IPL high score of 140 not out.
The Gujarat openers of Sai Sudharsan and Shubman Gill should automatically feature in your lineup. Between them, they have almost 600 runs in this edition of the IPL. Two middle-order batters who could light up the stage are Kolkata captain Ajinkya Rahane and West Indian Sherfane Rutherford. They have both played some handy knocks this year. Rahane has two half-centuries this season. Rutherford has a strike rate over 155 in this IPL.
Sunil Narine and Andre Russell will stand head and shoulders above the other all-rounders. Narine has scores of 44 and 30 in his last two batting innings, while also taking three wickets against CSK. Russell’s bowling has impressed with a wicket in each of his innings where he bowled.
The pacers Prasidh Krishna and Harshit Rana have impressed with bucket loads of wickets. Krishna has taken a mighty 11 wickets in his past four fixtures. Rana has eight wickets in his past four innings. Varun Chakravarthy is one of the better spinners available across both lineups. He has four wickets in his past two matches.
Sai Sudharsan is continuing his heroics of 2024 for Gujarat Titans. His runs tally for last season read 527 runs in 12 innings. His past three IPL innings have contributed 174 runs to his stats for this year.
Prasidh Krishna seems to be having a breakout season where his bowling performance are concerned. His current wickets tally is already his best return on wickets in all six of his seasons and he still has plenty of time to go. He has one four-wicket haul this IPL with a bowling average under 15 and an economy rate of 7.44.
The Gujarat Titans opening batters have been beyond brilliant. They should be among some of your first-choice players in your lineup. Moving down the order, the Gujarat Titans’ batters have found a rhythm in their past few games and may be worth getting into your side.
The West Indian all-rounders in the home side’s team are world-class and have an in-depth understanding of their conditions.
You may want to pick some of the home spinners as a trick up your sleeve, particularly if they end up bowling second.
Sai Sudharsan at 468 Dream11 fantasy points has the most
Sai Sudharsan is the obvious leader here with 365 runs
Prasidh Krisha has 14 wickets in seven innings, meaning he averages two wickets per game
Sai Sudharsan and Ajinkya Rahane have both sent the ball directly over the ropes 14 times
Gujarat Titans have two batters with strike rates over 200. Rashid Khan has a strike rate of 220, but Rahul Tewatia at 227.78 has the bets strike rate
Varun Chakravarthy has kept the batters in a corner with an economy rate of 6.22
