PAK vs SL Team Previews
Pakistan
Pakistan has been the best team in this tournament and was the first team to qualify for the finals. However, they did lose their latest match against the Lankans on Thursday.
While the team did lose its latest fixture, there are a few positives that the team will take from that match. Salman Agha, who has been going through a rough patch, scored a half-century and will regain some of his lost confidence. He forms a strong middle order along with Usman Khan, Mohammad Nawaz, Faheem Ashraf, and Fakhar Zaman. Fakhar Zaman and Ashraf have got some decent starts, but they have yet to play a big knock.
The same goes for Saim Ayub. A strong start will be important if Pakistan wants to win this match. Sahibzada Farhan is the leading run-scorer of the tournament and has scored two half-centuries in four matches. He, along with Babar Azam, will be the key batsman for the hosts.
Pakistan could include two specialist spinners as the slower bowlers have had plenty of success at this venue. Abrar Ahmed and Usman Tariq are both in excellent form with the ball. But that could mean that the team will have only one specialist seamer.
Pakistan Expected Playing 11
Saim Ayub, Sahibzada Farhan, Babar Azam, Salman Agha (C), Usman Khan (WK), Mohammad Nawaz, Faheem Ashraf, Fakhar Zaman, Mohammad Wasim Jr, Abrar Ahmed, Usman Tariq

Sri Lanka
Sri Lanka’s form on this tour hasn’t been the best. They faced a whitewash in the ODIs and were on the verge of getting eliminated in the ongoing tri-series. However, a resurgent performance in the last couple of matches ensured that the team remains alive to fight another day.
Sri Lanka has a strong and experienced batting line-up that is made up of Pathum Nissanka, Kusal Mendis, Kusal Perera, and Dasun Shanaka. They are all quality batsmen and can singlehandedly help the team post a big total. However, the form of some of them hasn’t been the best.
Shanaka and Kusal Perera, in particular, have struggled during the middle overs. In addition, Sri Lanka has some talented youngsters like Kamil Mishara, Janith Liyanage, and Pavan Rathnayake who have done a decent job so far. Sri Lanka boasts of a strong and well-balanced bowling unit.
Dushmantha Chameera bowled a brilliant spell on Thursday to help the team clinch a thrilling victory. He will open the proceedings with the new ball and will be supported by Eshan Malinga. Wanindu Hasaranga and Maheesh Theekshana retain their place in the spin department.
Sri Lanka Expected Playing 11
Pathum Nissanka, Kamil Mishara, Kusal Mendis (WK), Kusal Perera, Janith Liyanage, Dasun Shanaka (C), Pavan Rathnayake, Wanindu Hasaranga, Maheesh Theekshana, Dushmantha Chameera, Eshan Malinga
PAK vs SL Toss Prediction
It has been an even split between teams batting first and those batting second in the 6 matches played here during this tournament. Nevertheless, we feel that the team winning the toss will likely opt to bowl first.
Pitch Report and Weather Conditions
The pitch at Rawalpindi has gotten better to bat on over the last couple of games. The ball comes nicely onto the bat, and playing shots is easy. A score of around 180 is a par score. That said, the surface is showing some signs of wear, and there are some rough patches. The spinners could play a crucial role, especially once the ball becomes older and softer.
The weather will remain cold with temperatures around 15 degrees, and dew could be a big factor in the second half.
PAK vs SL: Who Will Win?
While Pakistan has been the strongest team in this tournament, they were not able to hold their nerve and lost the previous match. Sri Lanka will be feeling confident, thanks to consecutive victories, and we are expecting a thrilling encounter. We feel that Sri Lanka has a slight edge thanks to a strong and experienced batting line-up and a well-balanced bowling unit.
The odds certainly make it worth the risk.
Bet on Sri Lanka to win.
