BAN vs ZIM Betting Tips

Mushfiqur Rahim to be the top batsman for Bangladesh in 1st innings

Mushfiqur Rahim is the leading run-scorer for Bangladesh in Test cricket. He has scored 6007 runs at an average of 37.77. He has an excellent record against Zimbabwe and has scored two double-centuries in his last 4 innings against them, and both of them have come in the first inning. We are therefore backing him to play a good knock here.

Blessing Muzarabani to be the best bowler for Zimbabwe

Blessing Muzarabani has been in brilliant form with the ball and recently became Zimbabwe’s first bowler to pick up 7 wickets in an innings. He has picked up 8 wickets in each of his last two Test matches and was the best bowler for his team in both those matches. Since the pitch is likely to help the seamers, we are backing Muzarabani to once again be the top bowler for Zimbabwe.

Zimbabwe is on a 12-day tour of Bangladesh where the two teams will face off in a 2-match Test series. The first Test match begins on Sunday at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium.

BAN vs ZIM Team Previews

Bangladesh

The home team is coming into this contest on the back of a dismal performance in the Champions Trophy, where they failed to win even a single game. Their performance in the recent Test matches hasn’t been the best either. Nevertheless, the team has a good chance to redeem itself on home turf.

Bangladesh has named a 15-member squad that has several key members missing. Taskin Ahmed is nursing an injury, while Litton Das is playing in the PSL. Ebadot Hossain is also yet to fully recover from his injury. Tanzim Hasan Sakib, who has been quite promising in the white-ball format, has earned his maiden Test call. He will lead the pace department along with Nahid Rana and Hasan Mahmud.

Bangladesh has also picked up two specialist spinners Taijul Islam and Nayeem Hasan. They will be joined by Mehidy Hasan Miraz, who is also a dependable batsman lower down the order. The top order is likely to be Najmul Hossain Shanto, Mahmudul Hasan Joy, and Jaker Ali. Mushfiqur Rahim also makes a comeback in the playing XI.

Bangladesh Expected Playing 11

Tim Seifert (wk), David Warner (c), James Vince, Shan Masood, Arafat Minhas, Irfan Khan, Abbas Afridi, Khushdil Shah, Adam Milne, Hasan Ali, Fawad Ali

Zimbabwe

While Zimbabwe has shown decent form in the white-ball format, their form in Test cricket has been abysmal, as the last red-ball match they won was back in 2021.

While Zimbabwe has retained most of the players that faced Ireland earlier this year, there are some key changes. The senior pair of Sean Williams makes a return to bolster the batting line-up. He will join Craig Ervine, who missed the game due to personal commitments in spite of being named in the squad.

Other new faces included in the 15-member squad are Tafadzwa Tsiga, who makes a comeback in the Test fold after almost two years, and Wellington Masakadza, who comes in to strengthen the spin department. He may be joined by the uncapped leg spinner Vincent Masekesa.

Zimbabwe has retained the new-ball duo of Blessing Muzarabani and Richard Ngarava. Coming to the batting, Craig Ervine and Sean Williams will be joined by Brian Bennett, Wessly Madhevere, and Trevor Gwandu in the squad.

Zimbabwe Expected Playing 11

Saud Shakeel (c), Finn Allen, Hasan Nawaz, Kusal Mendis (wk), Rilee Rossouw, Shoaib Malik, Faheem Ashraf, Akeal Hosein, Mohammad Amir, Abrar Ahmed, Usman Tariq

BAN vs ZIM Toss Prediction

The Sylhet International Stadium has hosted 3 Test matches and all were won while batting first. In two of those matches, the team winning the toss opted to field first while in one, they opted to bat first. Seeing the record, batting first will be a better option here.

Pitch Report and Weather Conditions

The pitch at Sylhet is usually good to bat on, especially on the first couple of days. The average first-inning score here is around 291 but if the batsmen play patiently, they can go over the 350-mark as well. The surface is likely to be hard and flat, offering good pace and bounce. The seamers will get help during the first few days while the spinners may come into the picture only on the last day.

The weather is likely to remain overcast throughout the next week and we may see some showers interrupting the game.

BAN vs ZIM: Who Will Win?

Both the teams haven’t been in the best of forms in recent months and will be hopeful of turning things around. We are backing Bangladesh to win this match as they have a home advantage. Also, they have a pretty strong batting line-up and a well-balanced bowling attack.

BAN vs ZIM win percentage stands at 76% in favor of BAN.

Todays IPL Match Prediction: Bangladesh To Win.
