The Chinnaswamy Stadium offers an excellent batting track and the boundaries here aren’t the longest. Since both teams have some big hitters of the ball, we can safely expect a couple of high-scoring overs in this match.
Meg Lanning has an average of 47.00 in her last 10 WPL matches. She has scored a total of 376 runs during the same time, including 31 in the last match. As she faces an average bowling attack of the UP Warriorz, we can expect another good innings from Lanning.
While the batters will enjoy batting on this surface, we have yet to see a player score 63 or more runs in the 2 matches played here so far. There is some help from the pitch for the disciplined bowlers and we therefore think that it will be difficult for the batters to post a big individual score.
The Delhi Capitals will be looking to get their first points on the table as they face the UP Warriorz in the ongoing Women’s Premier League. The teams will face each other at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bangalore on Monday.
The two teams have faced each other twice so far, with Delhi winning both those matches.
This match can be live-streamed on the Jio Cinema App or can be watched live on the Sports 18 Network.
The Delhi Capitals will be disappointed with the result of their opening fixture as they lost to the Mumbai Indians in a thrilling encounter. Nevertheless, these are early days in the tournament and the team will hope to bounce back.
Meg Lanning, who was the top run-getter last season, was once again in fine form as she scored 31 runs. She will look to give her team a strong start along with Shafali Verma. The middle order has plenty of firepower thanks to the presence of batters like Alice Capsey, Jemimah Rodrigues, Marizanne Kapp, and Annabel Sutherland.
Alice Capsey was in sublime form on Friday as she scored 75 runs from just 43 deliveries. She also bowled well to pick up 2 wickets but was a bit expensive. Capsey will feature in the spin department along with Radha Yadav.
The seam attack consists of Arundhati Reddy, Shikha Pandey, Marizanne Kapp, and Annabel Sutherland.
Just like Delhi, the UP Warriorz too didn’t have the best of starts in their latest campaign as they lost their season opener to the Royal Challengers in a nailbiting encounter. However, the team will look to pick up some positives from that match and put up a better performance in this match.
The opening pair of Alyssa Healy and Vrinda Dinesh wasn’t able to give the team a strong start but will hope to score some quick runs during the Powerplay. The middle-order batting will be the key if UP Warriorz wants to win. Tahlia McGrath, Grace Harris, and Shweta Sehrawat all got a decent start on Saturday but were unable to play a big inning.
The team has some quality Indian all-rounders playing for it, and that adds plenty of depth to the batting. The most important among them will be Deepti Sharma, who has plenty of experience playing on the big stage. Coming to the bowling, the spin attack, led by Sophie Ecclestone, will be a key factor.
She will be supported by Rajeshwari Gayakwad, Deepti Sharma, and Grace Harris. The pace department does look a bit weak with Tahlia McGrath being the only quality option.
The team winning the toss will likely opt to chase on this ground.
The pitch at Bangalore is excellent to bat on and we can expect plenty of runs to be scored. The surface is hard, providing a good amount of pace and bounce and that allows the batters to score freely. The team batting first will need to get close to 200 runs to give the bowlers a fair chance.
The weather in Bangalore will be pleasant with a temperature of around 25 degrees. Dew is likely to be a factor in the second half.
The Delhi Capitals are the favorites to win this match. They have a strong batting line-up that will be a huge advantage on this ground. Also, the Capitals have some quality all-rounders playing for them, giving them an edge.
Bet on the Delhi Capitals W to win.
