Delhi has had very poor luck when it comes to winning the toss. They have managed to win just once and have lost the toss in each of the 4 matches.
Meg Lanning is in brilliant form this season and has scored 4 half-centuries in the last 5 innings. She was also the top scorer for the team in 2 of the last 3 matches and we are backing her to play another good knock here.
Jonassen is the leading wicket-taker of the tournament with 10 wickets she has picked up three 3-wicket hauls in her 4 outings and was the top wicket-taker of the match in 2 of them. As the pitch at Delhi is quite helpful to the spinners, Jonassen is likely to bowl a good spell.
The Delhi Capitals W will be looking to book its place in the playoffs as they face the Royal Challengers Bangalore in the ongoing WPL. The match will be played on Sunday at the Arun Jaitley Stadium.
Both teams have played 3 matches against each other to date. All the 3 matches were won by the Delhi Capitals.
This match can be live-streamed on the Jio Cinema App or can be watched live on the Sports 18 Network.
Despite losing its latest fixture to the UP Warriorz, the Delhi Capitals are sitting at the top of the points table thanks to an excellent NRR. A win here will confirm its place in the playoffs.
Meg Lanning continues her red-hot run in the WPL and has scored 4 half-centuries in her last 5 innings. She is currently the top run-getter of the season. She, along with Shafali Verma, Alice Capsey, and Jemimah Rodrigues makes up for a strong top order.
However, the failure of Jess Jonassen and Annabel Sutherland to score runs has hurt the team on a couple of occasions. The Capitals lost their last 7 wickets in just 18 deliveries as they collapsed against UP in a thriller.
Nevertheless, they are still likely to score plenty of runs. The bowlers have done a tremendous job. Jess Jonassen and Radha Yadav are two of the top wicket-takers of the season with 10 wickets each, while Marizanne Kapp is close behind with 8.
Titas Sadhu, Arundhati Reddy, and Shikha Pandey have bowled well in the seam department, picking up 15 wickets between them.
The Royal Challengers Bangalore started the season on a strong note but its campaign has derailed a bit in the last week. With 3 losses in the last 4 matches, the team is currently placed 3rd on the table and tied with the UP Warriorz. If RCB loses this match, it could potentially face a must-win situation against Mumbai in their last group-stage game.
Smriti Mandhana is in excellent form and has top-scored for the team with 243 runs. She will be joined by S Meghana at the top of the order. Ellyse Perry and Richa Ghosh have played well in patches but there is a lot to be desired when it comes to the batting of Sophie Devine and Sophie Molineux.
The latter however has bowled well to pick up 7 wickets and will join Asha Sobhana in the spin department. Georgia Wareham has put up a decent all-round performance to score 81 runs and pick up 6 wickets.
The seamers have struggled to deliver the goods with Renuka Singh managing to pick up only 2 wickets.
All 4 matches played in Delhi this season have been won by the teams batting first. We, therefore, think that the winner of the toss will likely opt to bat first.
The pitch is excellent to bat on during the first inning. The ball comes onto the bat with a good amount of pace and bounce and the batters can play their shots. The average first-inning score on this ground is around 180 runs. The surface does slow down a bit in the second half, and the spinners will enjoy bowling here.
The weather is likely to remain pleasant with temperatures of around 20 degrees Celsius.
Both the teams are coming into this contest on the back of a loss and will be keen to get back to winning ways. While we can expect a closely fought match, the Delhi Capitals enjoy an advantage thanks to a strong opening pair and an excellent bowling attack.
Bet on the Delhi Capitals W to win.
