India's batting has been so much better than the West Indies Women's team that this is fantastic value. Go as big as you can for this one.
The Indian bowlers, led by Renuka Singh, were devastating in the first ODI, bowling out the opposition for just over 100 runs. So, you can expect the top bowler to be from India.
Indian openers Smriti Mandhana and Pratika Rawal put together 110 runs in the first game in 23.2 overs. So, you can expect them to score over 13 runs from their first three overs.
Indian Women handed over a massive 211-run drubbing to the Caribbean women in the first ODI of the three-match series. The second game of the series will also be played at the same venue of Kotambi Stadium in Vadodara. Let's closely examine the match preview, pitch report, betting tips, and match prediction for this contest.
The Indian and West Indian Women have played against each other on twelve occasions in the ODI format. The Indian Women lead this head-to-head 10-2. Indian Women have won their last four encounters against this opposition.
The ODI series between these two countries will be aired live on Sports18 channels for television viewers. This contest will also be live-streamed on the JioCinema website and app.
Indian Women were in superb form in the first ODI of the series. Their top order was in excellent touch, and most top and middle orders contributed to the total. The opener, Smriti Mandhana, led their batting charge and scored 91 runs from 103 balls with 13 fours.
India Women scored 314 runs for the loss of nine wickets. This was followed by the seamer Renuka Singh running through the West Indian middle order to set up an utterly one-sided victory for the Indian women. Priya Mishra also picked up two wickets.
Despite the margin of the win, Indian management might expect more significant contributions from the top and middle ranks. These batters also batted slowly, with caution being on their mind. Mandhana was in good form, though, scoring runs fluently.
But whatever hopes the Caribbean women harbored were dealt a huge blow by Renuka Singh with a four-wicket initial bust that pretty much sealed the fate of a West Indian chase.
Indian Women will be looking at players such as Smriti Mandhana and Harmanpreet Kaur to provide the early impetus to the innings and Renuka Singh and Deepti Sharma to get them wickets.
West Indian Women could not have gotten a worse start to a bilateral ODI series than this. They not only failed to restrict the rampaging Indian top and middle order, but their batting performance was also poor. Indian Women recorded one of their largest-ever victory margins in this format.
The best bowler for West Indies Women in this game was Zaida James. She picked up a five-fer for 45 runs from her eight overs. Deandra Dottin and Hayley Matthews were the only other bowlers who picked up wickets during the Indian innings.
The only batters that looked like offering some resistance to the Indian bowling attack led by Renuka Singh were Shemaine Campbelle and Afy Fletcher. If the West Indies Women are to stage a comeback in this series, it will have to be led by their skipper, Hayley Matthews, both with the bat and the ball.
She was dismissed for naught in the first game although she bowled well to pick up two wickets. Other significant players for West Indies Women are Shemaine Campbelle with the bat and Zaida James and Karishma Ramharack with the ball.
If you look at the prior record of the matches played at the Reliance Stadium in Vadodara, you will find no clear indication about the decision after winning the toss. The first game saw the team batting first to raise a big total. The captain winning the toss might follow this trend in the second ODI and bat first on this track.
This wicket will offer something for everyone. It provides a consistent pace and bounce. Batters have traditionally enjoyed batting on this track. The outfield at this venue is fast, and the batters will get full value for their money.
Spinners can also come into play, especially in the second half of the contest. We are expecting hazy sunshine in Vadodara on the match day.
However, there is no chance of getting showers in this contest.
After the routing in the first ODI, it will take a brave man to bet on West Indies Women. Indian Women are playing at home, and all the batters playing in their top and middle order contributed to the score. The only heartening thing for the West Indies Women in the first game was Zaida James's bowling.
Overall, we reckon Indian Women will start as favorites.
Bet on Indian Women to win.
