The West Indies are expected to start with Kraigg Brathwaite and Mikyle Louis. However, they haven’t been consistent as a par and are averaging 26.5 in 14 matches. They have failed to cross the 23-run mark in 4 of their last 7 innings and we reckon they will be unavailable to give the team a strong start.
Babar Azam has a good record against the West Indies. He has scored 36 or more runs in 5 of his 6 first innings against them, including 4 half-centuries. We are therefore expecting a good knock from him.
The West Indies will embark on a tour of Pakistan to play a 2-match Test series starting this week. The first Test match will begin on Friday at the Multan Cricket Stadium.
The two teams have faced each other in 54 matches. Pakistan has won 21 matches while the West Indies have won 18. 15 games ended in a draw.

Pakistan is coming into this series on the back of a 2-0 loss against South Africa. Their performance in recent Test matches hasn’t been the best and they will look to improve their form as they return home.
Pakistan has made as many as 7 changes in the squad that toured South Africa in a bid to turn things around. The biggest change is likely to come at the top of the batting line-up. Saim Ayub is unavailable due to an injury while Abdullah Shafique has been dropped due to poor form.
We are likely to see Imam ul Haq and Muhammad Hurraira open the batting. With Babar Azam coming in at number 3 and Shan Masood, Said Shakeel, Mohammad Rizwan, and Salman Agha coming in lower down, Pakistan boasts a strong middle order.
The bowling unit has seen quite a few changes as well. Naseem Shah, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Mohammad Haris find no place in the squad. Mohammad Ali has earned a recall while Kashif Ali is likely to earn his first Test cap.
The home team has opted for a spin-heavy attack consisting of Noman Ali, Sajid Khan, and Abrar Ahmed.
The West Indies haven’t enjoyed the best of forms when it comes to the longest format of the game. As they play their last series before the end of the current World Test Championship cycle, the team will look to end it on a high.
Most of the squad has been picked up on expected lines. Kraigg Brathwaite leads a side that has plenty of batting depth. Alick Athanaze, Joshua da Silva, Keacy Carty, Justin Greaves, and Mikyle Louis form the spine of the batting line-up.
Amir Jangoo, who recently scored a century in his ODI debut against Bangladesh, has been rewarded for his excellent form in the domestic matches, and will likely play his first Test match. With Shamar Joseph unavailable due to an injury, Kemar Roach will lead the pace attack and will have the support of Jayden Seales and Anderson Phillip.
Gudakesh Motie makes a comeback in the spin department, joining Kevin Sinclair and Jomel Warrican.
The team winning the toss will likely opt to bat first.
The pitch at Multan is usually good to bat on during the first couple of days. The surface is flat and the batsmen can play their shots with ease. While the new ball does swing a bit, the seamers will have to bowl a tight line and length to keep the batsmen under check.
The average first-inning score here is around 370. The pitch will see some cracks in the last couple of days, helping the spinners.
Both teams have been inconsistent in their performance and are looking to find a stable combination for the next cycle. Pakistan has an edge due to a stronger batting line-up and a better understanding of the conditions. Pakistan's wins against England in the previous home series it played should point to what we can expect from them in this one.
Bet on Pakistan to win.
