The Irish seamers will challenge the West Indian power-hitting batters. The game could ultimately be won and lost by the outcome of that battle. History shows this is always an even contest in T20Is though.

Paul Stirling leads Ireland’s T20I charge. The opening batter starred in Ireland’s previous win when he hit 66 runs not out. Wicketkeeper batter Lorcan Tucker was another contributor in that game with 45 runs unbeaten. Harry Tector also shines in the middle order with more than 1400 T20I runs. Stephen Doheny has been a top performer in domestic T20s with ten half-centuries. Ross Adair recently hit his maiden T20I century. That feat took him only ten innings.
Mark Adair is one of Ireland’s premier T20I all rounders. As a bowler, the right-armer has taken 13 wickets in his last seven T20Is. George Dockrell balances left arm spin and middle order utility. His strike rate has been over 140 for his past ten T20Is.
Barry McCarthy has played over 50 T20Is, while claiming over 50 wickets. Graham Hume and Matthew Humphreys are newer but put in some decent shifts of their own. The pair have 13 T20I wickets between them.

Captain Shai Hope is best-known for his technique and classy shot selection. In T20I cricket, he has that in addition to a strike rate over 150 over his past six matches. Johnson Charles offers experience with almost 1500 runs, a century and five half-centuries. Top-order batter Evin Lewis has been destructive internationally with a highest score of 125 not out.
Shimron Hetmyer, Sherfane Rutherford and Rovman Powell offer big-hitting options. Former West Indies T20I captain Rovman Powell has been sensation in the middle with a batting average over 40 and strike rate over 140 in his past ten T20I matches. Rutherford adds flair with 437 T20I runs, including two fifties.
Romario Shepherd has shown his all-round value in more than just domestic cricket. Internationally, he has 59 wickets and 572 runs in T20Is. Jason Holder provides depth as a seasoned seamer and lower-order power hitter. The all-rounder has two four-wicket hauls and one five-wicket haul in T20Is.
Spin all-rounder Akeal Hosein brings craft and experience in the middle overs. The left-arm orthodox spinner has ten wickets in his past seven T20I matches. Alzarri Joseph remains the spearhead with explosive pace and almost 200 wickets in T20s. Matthew Forde’s inclusion in the national T20I set-up is largely down to 18 wickets in his local CPL tournament.

You can expect both captains to want to get the best of bowling conditions from the start. The weather and history will be two important factors to consider. The two previous result games were won by the chasing sides.
The light rain on the day and days before should make a difference. The seamers are likely to get a bit of juice out of the pitch in the dampish conditions. The teams should be looking to set up the innings for blast off in the second half of the innings. Zimbabwe scored 124 for four in 20 overs as the previous first-innings score at the ground before the start of this series.
There is light rain expected at a 20 percent chance. Temperatures will be quite cool. The high level of humidity should lessen the impact of the cool weather.
West Indies has a strong T20 team that did pretty well with the bat against England. Ireland knows it can beat the West Indies on its day but we think it enters this contest with a massive disadvantage in terms of batting strength.
