BAN vs WI Betting Tips
Rishad Hossain to pick up Over 1.5 wickets
Rishad Hossain performed well in the previous match to pick up 6 wickets and has picked up at least 2 wickets in each of his last two matches against the West Indies. As the pitch here is likely to aid the slower bowlers, we are backing Rishad to bowl another good spell.
Towhid Hridoy to score Over 24.5 runs
Hridoy is among the most consistent batsmen for Bangladesh in recent months. He has an average of 35 in ODIs and has scored at least 25 runs in 4 of his last 6 innings, all of which were half-centuries. Seeing his good form, we reckon that Hridoy will once again play a big knock in this match.

BAN vs WI Team Previews
Bangladesh
Bangladesh’s form heading into this wasn’t the best, as they had lost 11 of their last 12 ODIs. However, they put up a clinical performance in the first ODI on Saturday, defeating the West Indies by 74 runs.
Despite a poor start from the opening pair of Saif Hassan and Soumya Sarkar, Bangladesh managed to put up a decent total on a tough pitch. Sarkar has been rather inconsistent in his recent ODI performances and is in the 50-over squad after a gap of almost 10 months.
Nevertheless, he is among the most experienced batsmen in the squad, and we expect him to bounce back. The fans will be delighted to see Najmul Hossain Shanto get some runs under his belt and remain the key in the middle order along with Towhid Hridoy and Mahidul Islam Ankon.
Skipper Mehidy Hasan Miraz will add depth to the batting. The spinners, led by Rishad Hossain, did a brilliant job on Saturday. Hossain picked up 6 wickets and was well-supported by Tanvir Islam and Mehidu Hasan Miraz. Taskin Ahmed and Mustafizur Rahman continue to lead the attack with the new ball.
Bangladesh Expected Playing 11
Saif Hassan, Soumya Sarkar, Towhid Hridoy, Najmul Hossain Shanto, Nurul Hasan (WK), Mehidy Hasan Miraz (C), Rishad Hossain, Tanvir Islam, Taskin Ahmed, Mustafizur Rahman, Mahidul Islam Ankon

West Indies
The West Indies’ terrible run across formats has spilled over to the Bangladesh tour as well. Previously, they had lost a T20 series against Nepal and a Test series against India, and are now in real danger of losing 6th of the last 7 bilateral series against the Tigers.
The West Indies has an experienced squad at its disposal that is headlined by Brandon King and Alick Athanaze. They are both experienced batsmen who gave the West Indies a strong start and will hope to do the same in this match.
The middle order is pretty strong as well, thanks to the presence of Shai Hope and a plethora of all-rounders, including Keacy Carty, Sherfane Rutherford, Roston Chase, and Justin Greaves. While there is no dearth of talent, they need to be consistent and convert their starts into big knocks.
Since the seamers were quite effective with the new ball, the West Indies could be tempted to include Shamar Joseph in the playing XI, and he will join Jayden Seales and Justin Greaves. Gudakesh Motie will continue to lead the spin department along with Roston Chase.
West Indies Expected Playing 11
Alick Athanaze, Brandon King, Keacy Carty, Shai Hope (C & WK), Sherfane Rutherford, Roston Chase, Justin Greaves, Romario Shepherd, Gudakesh Motie, Jayden Seales, Shamar Joseph
BAN vs WI Toss Prediction
7 of the last 10 completed matches played at this venue were won while batting first. In 6 of the last 10 matches, the team winning the toss opted to bat first, and we feel that it might be the way to go in this match as well.
Pitch Report and Weather Conditions
The pitch in Mirpur is among the more difficult to bat on. The average first-inning score here is around 220. The surface is on the dry side, and the spinners are likely to have a good time here. The batsmen, once settled, could play their shots with confidence, but they need to respect the ball and wait for the right delivery.
The weather is likely to remain clear with plenty of sunshine and temperatures between 27 and 30 degrees.
BAN vs WI: Who Will Win?
Bangladesh has a good record against the West Indies, and we expect them to continue playing well. They have a strong squad at their disposal, which is well-versed in the conditions and carries an advantage. The West Indies are low on confidence and need to play much better to win here.
Bet on Bangladesh to win.
Pro Tip: We saw both teams struggle to score runs freely and lose wickets in clumps. That is something you can expect in the second match as well. We recommend betting against the batters wherever possible, especially the West Indians. |
