Opening batter K Aashiq continued to ooze class with a 56-run innings against the Salem Spartans. Fellow opener Mokit Hariharan’s 32 runs contributed to a 73-run opening stand in the last game. The Chepauk top order wasn’t finished there though.

Narayan Jagadeesan was also in sublime form with a half-century. Vijay Shankar is an established name on the domestic T20 circuit. The batting all-rounder has 2454 T20 runs with 11 half-centuries. Ganesh Moorthi is a danger to any batters at the crease. His left-arm spin has resulted in 37 wickets in the TNPL. Sanjay Yadav is pulling his weight, particularly with the bat. Against IDream Tiruppur Tamizhans, Yadav scored 60 runs not out.

K Easwaran kept things quiet in his previous bowling spell when he only conceded 19 runs in four overs while grabbing a wicket along the way. P Saravana Kumar used his brief opportunities in domestic T20 cricket to full effect with seven T20 wickets in three matches, including a five-wicket haul.

Athisayaraj Davidson was a highly effective bowler against the Kovai Kings. He had his hand in the win with three wickets in the game.
