SOB vs WEF Betting Tips
First dismissal of the match to be a fielder catch
This bet seems certain. In the last Brave vs Fire match, both sides saw their first wickets fall to catches. This would also be a smart choice with 15 out of 16 wickets in the same game falling to caught dismissals.
James Vince to score more than 20.5 runs
The Southern Brave captain is an established white-ball force in English domestic cricket. Vince scored 29 runs against the Welsh team previously. He also has over 1000 runs in the Men’s Hundred at a batting average of 30.

SB vs WF Team Previews
Southern Brave
Southern Brave are well placed to climb up the table in the Men’s Hundred once again. The team has a top order packed with batting power and bowlers who thrive in the final overs. Left-hander Leus du Plooy brings steady leadership, expertly finding gaps in the field. He scored a half-century against the Rockets this season.
James Vince who is famous for his perfect timing of a cricket ball will regularly rack up boundaries. Jason Roy energizes the top order, should he find his rhythm early. He has over 500 runs with three half-centuries in the tournament.
James Coles injects youthful energy, rapid running between wickets and demonstrates a mature approach to shot selection. Laurie Evans not only keeps wicket reliably but also finishes matches with confidence. His strike rate in the Men’s Hundred of more than 150 is intimidating.
Hilton Cartwright offers both flexibility in the middle order and valuable seam bowling. He banged 51 runs unbeaten in the previous clash against the Welsh Fire. Michael Bracewell provides steadiness through disciplined off-spin and painful ball-striking to any opposition bowling attack.
Jordan Thompson brings an element of surprise to the side with forceful batting and late-over bowling. When the pressure mounts in the closing stages, Craig Overton relies on hard lengths, Jofra Archer unleashes outstanding pace and Tymal Mills delivers variation from the left with late swing and cutters.
Archer is currently on a run of four wickets in his past two bowling innings. Mills took three wickets in last year’s final.
Southern Brave Expected Playing 11
Leus du Plooy, James Vince (c), Jason Roy, James Coles, Laurie Evans (wk), Hilton Cartwright, Michael Bracewell, Jordan Thompson, Craig Overton, Jofra Archer, Tymal Mills

Welsh Fire
Welsh Fire haven’t given themselves a chance this year with loss after loss. Tom Abell wears the armband but has done little to deserve the title of a leader in the side. Steve Smith is reasonable as an accumulator in the 100-ball format, but he lacks the rocket fire like some of the biggest hitters in the game. His Men’s Hundred strike rate is only just over 125.
Stephen Eskinazi repeats the tempo of his opening partner in Steve Smith. The team risks stagnating in the powerplay. Jonny Bairstow still offers bursts of class, but the Fire leans heavily on the Yorkshireman to make an impact.
Tom Kohler-Cadmore’s power is frightening, but he lacks the consistency to be any major problem. Smith, Bairstow and Kohler-Cadmore could only contribute 17 runs between them against the Rockets.
With the ball, the plan is obvious but brittle. Riley Meredith’s raw speed may blast doors open for wickets, but he also risks being taken for runs aplenty. David Payne should swing it up front but may struggle to adjust without the moving ball.
Chris Green will try to dry up an end but could get taken to all parts with no turn on offer. Despite a few wickets, both Payne and Green both got taken for over 30 runs each in their previous bowling spell.
Depth is where the Welsh Fire really creak. Ben Kellaway and Josh Hull are still learning the craft of playing the short formats, and any off night from the seniors leaves them exposed. Hull suffered a wicketless fate against the Trent Rockets.
Welsh Fire Expected Playing 11
Stephen Eskinazi, Steve Smith, Jonny Bairstow (wk), Tom Abell (c), Tom Kohler-Cadmore, Ben Kellaway, Chris Green, Saif Zaib, David Payne, Josh Hull, Riley Meredith
SB vs WF Toss Prediction
All three of the prior matches at Southampton this season have been won by the side batting second. Under the floodlights, chasing could be the preferred method of going about things.
Pitch Report and Weather Conditions
The pitch in Southampton often provides a true surface with good bounce, rewarding fluent stroke play while still offering something for seamers under lights. Batters who get set can score quickly courtesy of the fast outfield, but bowlers who use their skills with variations of pace and cutters can still be successful. The Southern Brave’s previous home score was 133 all out.
Rain may be something to anticipate on the day. The chance of rain is just over 50 percent at the time of the match. Temperatures will dip to something cool, but humidity will still be a strong factor.
SB vs WF: Who Will Win?
The Southern Brave smashed the Birmingham Phoenix by nine wickets in its opening home game. The same Southern Brave team finished as finalists in 2024. The Welsh Fire faces a challenging task to secure a win against them on the road.
