LOS vs TRR Betting Tips

First dismissal of the match to be fielder catch

This is often considered a common dismissal in the shorter formats with the ball being hit in the air on the regular. In last year’s match between the Spirit and Rockets, both opening wickets were from fielder catches.

Tom Banton to score more than 19.5 runs

The hard-hitting batter is generally someone to bank on. In his 2024 innings against the London Spirit, Banton scored a commendable 36 runs off 25 balls. The batter has averaged almost 30 over his past ten Men’s Hundred innings.

LS vs TR Team Previews

London Spirit

From the moment David Warner strode to the crease, hopes soared. After being dismissed for just nine runs in the Spirit’s ignominious opening collapse for 80, he responded in fine style with a powerful 70 ball half-century which was then backed up with an even bolder 71 off 51 balls against Manchester Originals.

In the Hundred’s frantic format, Kane Williamson has not proven himself as a match-winner. His 19 off 20 beside Warner’s 71 in the Originals game failed to deliver the spark that the team needs. Jamie Smith (wk), behind the stumps, has had a quieter run with just 38 runs to his name so far.

Out in the middle order, Ashton Turner and Sean Dickson have not seized the spotlight. Ollie Pope hasn’t featured much either this season, staying in the shadows of the top order without making a telling contribution. Jamie Overton flexed his bowling muscle with a solid two for 26 in the Originals match, hinting at more to come.

Clever left-arm spinner Liam Dawson rounds out the spin-bowling department with proven credentials. He has taken more of a backseat in the start of this season though after no wickets and an expensive tally in his previous innings.

Olly Stone bowled tightly when he appeared with two for 27 against the Originals game. Richard Gleeson has offered experience, but not the kind of breakthrough overs that tilt games with only a wicket here and there. Jafer Chohan is the wild-card leg-spinner but hasn’t made headlines. He has not necessarily become one of the fearsome match-winners as expected. The leg-spinner went for nearly two runs per ball in his previous outing.

London Spirit Expected Playing 11

David Warner, Kane Williamson (c), Jamie Smith (wk), Ashton Turner, Sean Dickson, Jamie Overton, Ollie Pope, Liam Dawson, Olly Stone, Richard Gleeson, Jafer Chohan

Trent Rockets

Anchored by the astute leadership of David Willey, Trent Rockets are looking like one of the most well-rounded contenders of this season. Willey’s dual role as captain and pace-bowling all-rounder gives the side both tactical smarts and crucial breakthroughs. He ended the Vitality T20 Blast this season with three consecutive half-centuries.

At the top of the order, there’s punch and reliability. Tom Banton has been explosive while showing signs that bigger scores are on the horizon. He hit 43 against the Phoenix and 37 against the Superchargers. Joe Root brings composure and class. The legendary English batter has over 300 Men’s Hundred runs.

The middle order is deep and versatile. Max Holden, Tom Alsop and Adam Hose can consolidate the innings or turn up the power when needed. Overseas pro Marcus Stoinis is the quintessential match-winner and an enviable X-factor in the lineup. He bowled an outrageous double-wicket maiden in his last innings.

The spin-bowling depth in the side is special. Rehan Ahmed has already put in a match-defining all-round performance with two wickets and 31 runs to seal a five-wicket win over the Superchargers. Akeal Hosein complements him perfectly, as another bowler to take two wickets against the Superchargers.

On the pace front, the dual threat of Lockie Ferguson’s raw pace and Sam Cook’s disciplined seam work has added teeth to the attack. The pace pair rounds out a bowling unit that is varied and threatening.

Trent Rockets Expected Playing 11

Tom Banton (wk), Joe Root, Rehan Ahmed, Max Holden, Tom Alsop, Marcus Stoinis, Adam Hose, David Willey (c), Akeal Hosein, Lockie Ferguson, Sam Cook

LS vs TR Toss Prediction

The Rockets won its previous match when given the choice to bowl first against the Superchargers. Bowling first has largely produced the better results overall this year.

Pitch Report and Weather Conditions

The pitch at Lord’s is known for its famous slope. This gradient gives seam and swing bowlers an added edge early on as the ball behaves differently through the air and off the surface. With bright and sunny conditions, the pitch should be reasonable to score runs on. The London Spirit was bowled out for 80 in the previous match at Lord’s.

Some pleasant weather will be on the horizon for matchday in London with sunny and warm conditions. The chance of rain will be on the lower side at only one percent.

LS vs TR: Who Will Win?

The Trent Rockets has made a positive start to its 2025 season after beating the Phoenix and Superchargers. The London Spirit has not met the same standard after one win and one loss in its two matches.

Bet on Trent Rockets to win.

LS vs TR win percentage stands at 55% in favor of TR.
