Multan Sultans to score 44 runs or fewer in the first six overs
This should be a favourable bet to stake your money at. The Sultans had a sedate start to their innings against the Qalandars with their total of 39 for one after the powerplay.
Total runs for Quetta Gladiators in the first six overs to be over 56.5
The Quetta Gladiators motored along to a score of 67 for one in their six-over powerplay against Peshawar Zalmi. They will likely take the same approach with the bat after putting on a strong total in their previous outing.
The Gladiators will be ranked higher on the table in this game, although they have been inconsistent over their five games in 2025. Multan Sultans have only won once this year, as they sit in last position. They will need Pakistani superstar Mohammad Rizwan to do something special.

The head-to-head record is a complete whitewash to Multan Sultans over the past five matches. The difference between the teams in the previous match was a mammoth 79 runs in favour of the Multan side.
Catch all the PSL action between Quetta Gladiators and Multan Sultans from Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore on Tuesday, 29 April 2025. You could have followed this game in India on the Sony Sports Network and/or the FanCode app, but coverage is currently halted after the terror attack in Pehelgam.
Quetta’s top order is buzzing with confidence and fireworks. Captain Saud Shakeel cracked a brisk 59 in Quetta’s opening game. At the other end, New Zealand’s Finn Allen is pure dynamite with a whirlwind 25-ball 53 in that same match. Add South African Rilee Rossouw to the mix. Rossouw’s 44 runs against Lahore Qalandars shows glimpses of the batter’s potential.
Sri Lankan keeper Kusal Mendis brings a mix of calm and aggression at number four. He has hit numerous fluent innings of 30 or more runs in three PSL innings. Left-hander Mark Chapman, on PSL debut, has quickly shown his worth when hitting an unbeaten 33 runs in Quetta’s last match.
In a come-from-behind win over Karachi, the pair of Faheem Ashraf and Hasan Nawaz rescued the team with a momentum-shifting 59-run stand. Faheem Ashraf smashed a belligerent 43 runs and 20-year-old Hasan Nawaz contributed a mature 35. All-round star Faheem Ashraf took a magical five for 33 that blew away Peshawar Zalmi.
If Quetta’s batting is impressive, their bowling attack is just as daunting to take on. Veteran left-armer Mohammad Amir brings big-game pedigree and swing. Amir has already claimed three two-wicket hauls in five innings. Young pace-bowling all-rounder Mohammad Wasim complements Amir perfectly by hitting the deck hard and nailing his yorkers.
Wasim’s contributions include two for 22 in the tight win over Karachi. The spin magician Abrar Ahmed ran riot with a four-wicket haul against Peshawar Zalmi. Khurram Shahzad chipped in with a brilliant two for nine in three overs in his last game.

Skipper Mohammad Rizwan is in sublime form, leading the PSL 2025 run charts with 302 runs. He scored 76 not out in his previous innings too. Fellow opener Yasir Khan isn’t afraid to take on the bowlers in the powerplay. He smashed 87 runs against the Qalandars in his first innings of the season. Usman Khan brings serious X-factor at the top. The top-order batter smashed the fastest century in PSL history last season in 36 balls.
West Indies wicketkeeper-batter Shai Hope adds a touch of class. Hope’s temperament and experience of over 4000 T20 runs mean a big innings is around the corner. Pakistani batter Kamran Ghulam was a power package in Multan’s previous match with an unbeaten half-century.
The ever-dangerous Iftikhar Ahmed is a fan favourite with over 1000 PSL runs and five half-centuries in his PSL career. All-rounder Michael Bracewell keeps the balance of the lineup. A crafty off-spinner and capable left-handed hitter, Bracewell has a T20 high score of 141 not out and two four-wicket hauls.
Josh Little, the left-arm pacer from Ireland, leads the line with swing and pace upfront. He’s been effective in the powerplay when he drew first blood in the second over of his last match. Partnering him is Pakistan speedster Mohammad Hasnain with raw pace that can push 150 kilometres per hour.
Young Akif Javed offers a different look with left-arm fast-medium bowling. The find of the season for Sultans might be young Ubaid Shah. The emerging pacer turned heads by picking up two wickets in one over against Lahore.

Multan Sultans only win this season and three previous wins against Quetta Gladiators have all been while batting first. The Gladiators have had two wins in a row batting first. Both teams could be thinking in the same direction of making first use of the pitch with the bat.
The iconic Gaddafi Stadium in Lahore promises an electric contest with runs galore. Recent PSL games here have ranged from high-octane run-fests to gritty low-scoring battles with an average first-innings score of 158. Lahore chased down a hefty 186 runs in 19 overs on this ground. The three other results for 2025 have been won batting first. The spinners get decent grip in the dry evening conditions and clever pace variations can reap rewards under the lights.
The temperatures will move to the mid to high 30 degrees Celsius even at night. The players won’t have humidity is one of the biggest factors to contend with. Rain is also unlikely to play a role with no chance of it.
Quetta Gladiators have some good recent form on their side while the Multan Sultans have history on theirs. This could be a close match and one where we think the Multan Sultans will come out trumps. Their batting is dependable and we hope to see more urgency from them in this contest.
QG vs MS win percentage stands at 53% in favor of MS.
