The Quetta Gladiators have won the toss in each of their last 3 matches. On the other hand, the Karachi Kings have lost their last 3 tosses. We, therefore, think that Quetta is likelier to win the toss in this match.
Abrar Ahmed has bowled well in the last few matches, picking up two 3-wicket hauls in the last 3 outings. He was the top bowler of the match in both those matches. As the pitch at Rawalpindi is quite helpful to the bowlers, Abrar Ahmed has a good chance of bowling another good spell.
Pollard has been a consistent performer for the Karachi Kings this season. He is the top run-getter for the team and has scored at least 48 runs in 3 of his last 4 innings. As the batting around him hasn’t been the best, Pollard will look to play another big inning to keep his team’s qualification hopes alive.
The Quetta Gladiators will be looking to cement their place in the top 4 as they face the Karachi Kings for match number 22 in the ongoing season of the PSL. The match will be played on Wednesday at the Rawalpindi Cricket Stadium.
Both teams have played 17 matches against each other to date. The Quetta Gladiators have won 12 of those matches B while the Karachi Kings have won 5.

The Karachi Kings aren’t having the best of seasons this time around. With just 2 wins in 6 matches, the team is currently 5th on the points table. While it still has a fair chance of qualifying for the playoffs, the Kings will need to win each of its upcoming matches to finish in the top 2.
The batting has been a letdown for the team. Skipper Shan Masood is averaging only 17.5 after 6 matches, while Tim Seifert, James Vince, and Leus du Plooy have been rather inconsistent. Kieron Pollard, who missed the last match, is expected to join the squad in this match and will play an important role as he is the top run-getter for the team.
Shoaib Malik and Irfan Khan have batted well in patches. The Kings have a strong seam attack and will depend upon them to provide early breakthroughs when the ball is new. Hasan Ali and Mir Hamza have picked up 15 wickets between them, while Blessing Muzarabani picked up a 2-wicket haul in the last match.
The spin department does look a bit weak as the Kings lack specialist spinners.
Barring the loss against Multan Sultans, the Quetta Gladiators have played some excellent cricket this season and are sitting pretty in second place on the table. As they enjoy a 5-point lead over the 5th-placed team, a win here will take Quetta pretty close to qualification for the playoffs.
Jason Roy has been pretty consistent at the top of the order and has scored 200 runs at an average of 40.00. His knocks include 2 half-centuries. He is likely to be joined by Saud Shakeel as his opening partner and together they make for a strong opening pair.
The middle order has some clean strikers of the cricket ball, including Rilee Rossouw, Sarfaraz Ahmed, and Sherfane Rutherford. Rutherford played an excellent knock of 58 runs in the last match and will be the perfect person to play the role of a finisher.
The Gladiators have an excellent spin attack consisting of Abrar Ahmed, Akeal Hosein, and Usman Tariq. Abrar Ahmed is the leading wicket-taker for Quetta with 10 wickets. The pace department does seem a bit weak as only Mohammad Wasim Jr. has been able to have some impact on the opposition batsmen.
The team winning the toss will look to bowl first.
The Rawalpindi Stadium offers one of the most balanced pitches in PSL, offering plenty of help to both, batsmen as well as bowlers. The average first-inning score on this ground is around 160. Anything over 180 will be tricky to chase.
The seam bowlers will get plenty of help from the pitch, especially when the ball is new. However, things get better for the batsmen as the match progresses.
The weather is likely to remain cloudy with temperatures of around 15 degrees.
The Quetta Gladiators enter this contest as the favorites to win. With just 1 loss this season, they have been very consistent and have hardly faltered. Their batting is much stronger when compared to Karachi. Also, Quetta has a good record against Karachi in recent head-to-head encounters.
Bet on the Quetta Gladiators to win.
