The Gladiators have enjoyed tremendous luck when it comes to winning the toss as they have won it in 5 of their last 7 matches. We are therefore expecting them to win it yet again.
Abrar Ahmed is the leading wicket-taker for Quetta and has picked up 15 wickets so far. He has been the top bowler for Quetta in 2 of their last 4 matches. With the pitch in Karachi providing plenty of assistance to spinners, Abrar is likely to bowl a good spell.
Shadab Khan has been a key performer for Islamabad in the middle order. He has scored 2 half-centuries in his last 4 outings and was the top batsman in 2 of them. Looking at his good form, we expect Shadab to continue playing well.
Islamabad United and Quetta Gladiators will face off in Eliminator 1 in the ongoing PSL on Friday. The winner of this match will face the winner of the Qualifier in Eliminator 2 on Saturday.
Both teams have faced each other in 18 completed matches to date. They have an even record so far, with both teams winning 9 matches each.

After a rather slow start to the season, Islamabad United gradually picked up pace toward the end of the group stage, winning 4 of the last 5 matches. As a result, the team finished 3rd on the points table.
The team has some of the best T20 batsmen playing for them, including the likes of Colin Munro, Alex Hales, Shadab Khan, and Agha Salman. Munro is in prime form, scoring 309 runs at an average of 34.33. He has scored 3 half-centuries in his last 6 innings and will be the key batsman for the team at the top of the order.
Agha Salman and Azam Khan have played a couple of good knocks in the middle order. Shadab Khan has cemented his all-round credentials by scoring 278 runs and also picking up 10 wickets.
He is the joint-highest wicket-taker for the team alongside Naseem Shah. Imad Wasim is another all-rounder to watch out for as he can strike some lusty blows toward the end of the innings.
Just like Islamabad, the Quetta Gladiators have been rather inconsistent this season and managed to scrape through to the playoffs.
The opening pair of Saud Shakeel and Jason Roy has been pretty consistent so far and has given the team some strong starts. However, some weak performances by the middle order have cost the team quite a few matches.
While there are big names in the line-up including Sherfane Rutherford, Rilee Rossouw, and Khawaja Nafay, they have been rather inconsistent. The bowlers, especially the spinners, have done a better job. Akeal Hosein and Abrar Ahmed have picked up 28 wickets so far and will hold the key for Quetta.
Mohammad Amir and Mohammad Wasim Jr. have picked up 8 wickets each and will lead the attack with the new ball.
The team winning the toss will likely opt to bat first.
The pitch at the National Stadium in Karachi is good to bat on during the first half. While the seamers will get some help with the new ball, they will be able to play their shots as the ball offers a good amount of bounce and pace. The average first-inning score is around 180.
The weather in Karachi will be clear with temperatures around 24 degrees.
Both teams have lacked consistency and must bring out their A-game if they want to win here. Looking at their recent form we feel that Islamabad United has a slight edge over Quetta thanks to a stronger batting line-up and the presence of some quality all-rounders.
