The pitch in Bulawayo isn’t the easiest to bat on. There is plenty of help for the seamers as well as the spinners and we are unlikely to see a big over.
Both, Saim Ayub and Abdullah Shafique struggled in the first match and were dismissed cheaply. With Zimbabwe’s fast bowlers doing well, we think Pakistan will yet again lose quick wickets.
After a stunning win in the first match, Zimbabwe will look to win the series as they face Pakistan for the 2nd ODI on Tuesday. The match will be played at the Queens Sports Club in Bulawayo.
The two teams have faced each other in 63 matches to date. Pakistan is the dominant team with 54 wins while Zimbabwe won six. Two matches were washed out while one was a tie.

Zimbabwe started this series as the underdogs and not many gave them a chance to win. However, they played some excellent cricket to score a much-deserved victory.
Joylord Gumbie and Tadiwanashe Marumani gave the team a solid start on Sunday and will look to do the same in this match as well. However, the duo was unable to convert their starts to a big score and that is something they will hope to do so.
The middle order is pretty strong as well thanks to the presence of Dion Myers, Sean Williams, Craig Ervine, and Sikander Raza. If any one of them gets going, Zimbabwe could post a big score. Richard Ngarava played an excellent knock as well, scoring 48 runs to give his team a late push.
The bowling from the hosts was exceptional and was the key reason for the team’s win in the rain-shortened match. Blessing Muzarabani set the tone by dismissing the openers cheaply and will yet again lead the pace department.
Sikander Raza and Sean Williams kept the pressure on, picking up 2 wickets each, as Pakistan fell way below the DLS par score. The spinners will hold the key yet again.
There is plenty of introspection that Pakistan will have to do before they go into this contest.
While the team was missing a couple of its key players including Babar Azam, Shaheen Shah Afridi, and Naseem Shah, the squad still has plenty of quality players who could have won the match for them. The batting was the biggest disappointment for them as none of the batsmen were able to cross the 20-run mark despite a decent batting surface.
The opening pair of Saim Ayub and Abdullah Shafique fell cheaply and that had a cascading effect on the lower order. Batsmen like Mohammad Rizwan, Haseebullah Khan, and Agha Salman will need to take up more responsibility.
Coming to the bowling, the slower bowlers, Faisal Akram and Agah Salman bowled well to pick up 3 wickets each. The seamers were a bit expensive but the hosts will most likely retain the trio of Aamer Jamal, Mohammad Hasnain, and Haris Rauf.
The team winning the toss will likely opt to bowl first.
The pitch at the Queens Sports Club is likely to be balanced. It has been raining in Bulawayo over the last few days and there will be some moisture in the surface, allowing the quicker bowlers to get some movement off the seam.
As the pitch dries out, the spinners will get some grip and turn as well. A score of around 250 should be a par score.
The weather is likely to be humid and cloudy with temperatures of around 25 degrees.
Zimbabwe played well in the last match but we expect Pakistan to turn things around here, especially as they look to save the series. They could also bring back some of its more experienced players to try and just ensure a better balance.
Bet on Pakistan to win.
