Pakistan put up a fight in the first ODI but its lack of batting depth was clear to see
New Zealand seems to come up with an astonishing number of talented youngsters ready for international cricket. They did not miss their first choice players at all.
New Zealand's fielding and bowling are superior to Pakistan, especially in home conditions
Pakistan total runs before fall of 1st wicket - Over 25.5
Pakistan is likely to open its batting with Abdullah Shafique and Usman Khan. While Usman Khan is making his debut in this series, Abdullah Shafique is a seasoned opener. The duo gave the team a solid start in the previous game, scoring 83 runs and we expect another good start from them.
Mark Chapman to score Over 28.5 runs
Mark Chapman has been a consistent performer for New Zealand in recent games. He has scored at least 29 runs in his last 5 innings, including 3 half-centuries and a century. He has scored at least 29 runs in his last 3 innings against Pakistan, and we are therefore backing him to play a good knock in this match.
New Zealand will look to claim the 3-match ODI series as it takes on Pakistan for the 2nd match. The two teams will clash on Wednesday at Seddon Park in Hamilton.

New Zealand continued with their excellent form from the T20 series to claim an early advantage in the ODI series as well. With just two more games to go including this one, a win here will give the hosts an unassailable lead.
A last-minute injury to skipper Tom Latham meant New Zealand had to tweak its playing XI. However, that did not affect the team’s morale as they put up another clinical performance. Debutants Nick Kelly and Muhammad Abbas played well with the bat, and Abbas looked particularly impressive. He scored the fastest ODI half-century by a debutant.
Mark Chapman and Daryl Mitchell batted well too, with Chapman scoring a brilliant century. The others in the batting unit include Will Young, Mitchell Hay, and Henry Nicholls, while Michael Bracewell adds depth to the batting.
New Zealand’s seam attack consists of Jacob Duffy, William O’Rourke, and Nathan Smith. Smith picked up 4 wickets in the previous game and will hope to do the same here. The spin department is pretty thin with Bracewell being the lone slow bowler.

Pakistan’s woes seem to have no end as the team has been putting up one poor performance after another. They must now play out of their skin to save this series.
The visitors have brought in some of their most experienced players for this tournament and are playing with a nearly full-strength squad. Abdullah Shafique and Usman Khan gave the team a steady start in the previous game and will look to do the same in this match as well. Babar Azam and Salman Agha also looked in fine touch as they scored individual half-centuries.
However, the team expects Mohammad Rizwan, Tayyab Tahir, and Irfan Khan to perform better. The team suffered a mini-collapse on Saturday and that cost them the game. The bowling was pretty inconsistent as well. Haris Rauf and Akif Javed picked up two wickets each and were economical as well.
Irfan Khan picked up 3 wickets but was very expensive. Salman Agha was also inconsistent with his line and length. Pakistan will need to perform better with both, the bat and the ball if they want to win this match.
Abdullah Shafique, Usman Khan, Babar Azam, Mohammad Rizwan (C & WK), Salman Agha, Tayyab Tahir, Irfan Khan, Naseem Shah, Haris Rauf, Mohammad Ali, Akif Javed
7 of the last 10 matches played at Seddon Park were won while chasing. In 6 of those games, the team winning the toss opted to field first and we reckon that chasing will be a better idea here.
The pitch at Seddon Park is usually good to bat on. The team batting first will look to score anywhere between 280-300 runs here. That said, there is plenty of green grass on the surface, allowing the quicker bowlers to get some movement off the seam. The batsmen will have to be a bit careful during the Powerplay.
The weather in Hamilton is likely to remain overcast with temperatures between 20 and 24 degrees.
We are backing New Zealand to win this match. They have been brilliant throughout this tour and we expect them to continue playing well. Pakistan will need to play much better than they have so far.
NZ vs PAK Win percentage is 64% in favor of New Zealand.
