NZ-W vs AUS-W Betting Tips

Total runs in the highest scoring over of the match Under 17.5

The pitch at Eden Park in Auckland isn’t the easiest to bat on. The bowlers, especially the seamers, will get plenty of help from this surface and the batters will find it difficult to go after the bowling. We are, therefore, unlikely to see a big over in this match.

Total runs Under 293.5

Eden Park has hosted two WT20I games till date and both have been low-scoring matches. Since both teams have a strong bowling attack, we are expecting that trend to continue and we are unlikely to see a high-scoring match.

The Australian Women’s team travel to New Zealand later this week. They will play a 3-match T20 series against hosts New Zealand, the first of which will be played at Eden Park in Auckland on Friday.

The two teams have faced each other in 52 matches to date. Australia won 29 games while New Zealand won 21. One match ended without any result while one was a tie.

NZ-W vs AUS-W Team Previews

New Zealand Women

The New Zealand W are the reigning T20 World Champions. However, the team hasn’t played much T20 cricket since then. Nevertheless, the team will look to make a positive start in this series.

The New Zealand team was plagued with injuries over the last few months but most players have recovered in time for this series. Suzie Bates will lead a squad with an excellent mix of experienced and young players. Bates will open the batting alongside Georgia Plimmer and will look to give the team a strong start here.

The middle order is also pretty strong, thanks to the presence of Sophie Devine, Amelia Kerr, and Brooke Halliday.

Coming to the bowling, Jess Kerr is likely to lead the attack with the new ball alongside Lea Tahuhu, while Fran Jonas and Eden Carson are likely to be the two spinners.

New Zealand Women Expected Playing 11

Suzie Bates (C), Georgia Plimmer, Sophie Devine, Amelia Kerr, Brooke Halliday, Polly Inglis (WK), Lea Tahuhu, Jess Kerr, Rosemary Mair, Eden Carson, Fran Jonas

Australia Women

After a disappointing campaign in the T20 World Cup which saw them bow out in the semifinals, Australia has managed to turn things around, performing well across formats as it has won the ODI series against India and England, as well as a T20 series and one-off Test against England.

With Alyssa Healy sidelined due to an injury, Tahlia McGrath will lead the 14-member squad to New Zealand and Ashleigh Gardner will be her deputy. While most of the squad has been named on expected lines, one surprise inclusion is that of Nicole Faltum.

While she hasn’t played any international cricket yet, Faltum has been impressive in the domestic circuit as well as in the WBBL. However, she is unlikely to get a chance to play as Beth Mooney will be the first-choice wicket-keeper in this series.

There is plenty of firepower in Australia’s batting thanks to the presence of Phoebe Litchfield, Georgia Voll, Ellyse Perry, and Georgia Wareham. Another big name missing from the squad is Sophie Molineux as she continues to nurse an injury.

Megan Schutt and Kim Garth will lead the attack with the new ball in this match, while Alana King will feature as the specialist spinner.

Australia Women Expected Playing 11

Georgia Voll, Phoebe Litchfield, Tahlia McGrath (C), Ashleigh Gardner, Ellyse Perry, Annabel Sutherland, Georgia Wareham, Beth Mooney (WK), Alana King, Megan Schutt, Kim Garth

NZ-W vs AUS-W Toss Prediction

The stadium has hosted 2 completed WT20I matches with the team batting first winning won, and the other match won while chasing. In both those matches, the team winning the toss opted to bowl first and we expect that trend to continue.

Pitch and Conditions

The pitch at Auckland is usually balanced and we can expect a close contest between the bat and the ball. The surface is flat with some green patches, allowing the seamers to extract some movement with the new ball. However, once the ball gets a bit old, playing shots gets easier. The team batting first will look to score at least 150 runs.

The weather is likely to be clear with temperatures between 20 and 25 degrees.

NZ-W vs AUS-W: Who Will Win?

Both, Australia and New Zealand are strong sides and we can expect a close contest between them. While there is likely little separating the two at this stage, at least on paper, we feel that Australia has a slight edge as they have a stronger batting unit.

NZ-W vs AUS-W win percentage is 80% in favor of the Australia Women.

Bet on Australia Women to win.
