The Narendra Modi Stadium offers a balanced surface that provides equal opportunities to the bowlers and the batters. None of the two games played here in this series has seen an over with 16 or more runs scored and we are unlikely to see it in this match as well.
Harmanpreet’s record against New Zealand isn’t the best as she averages just over 30 runs in 18 ODIs played against them. Harmanpreet has been able to cross the 29-run mark just twice in the last 7 innings against them. Similarly, in her previous 8 ODI innings, she has managed to cross the 29-run mark just twice.
New Zealand W to win the match, 2.909
With the 3-match series evenly poised, India and New Zealand will face off in a virtual final on Tuesday. Like the other two games, this match will be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
The two teams have faced each other in 56 games. New Zealand won 34 of them while India won 21. 1 match ended in a tie.
This match will be live-streamed on the Jio Cinema app. One can also watch it live on the Sports 18 Network.
After putting up a clinical performance in the first ODI, India was outplayed on Sunday as they were crushed by the visitors. They will now hope to bounce back.
India’s batting has been a bit of a let-down, particularly in the last game. Shafali Verma and Smriti Mandhana haven’t been able to give the team a good start in this series. Mandhana in particular seems to be struggling against New Zealand and is yet to reach double digits in this series.
Similarly, the middle order consisting of Harmanpreet Kaur, Jemimah Rodrigues, and Yastika Bhatia will need to shoulder more responsibility in this match. The bowlers have faced better comparatively.
Radha Yadav is the leading wicket-taker with 7 wickets while Deepti Sharma and Saima Thakor have chipped in with 3 wickets each.
New Zealand put up a clinical performance in the second ODI to level the series and now are on the cusp of a historic series win against India.
The openers, Suzie Bates and Georgia Plimmer got the team off to a solid start as the visitors 87 runs for the opening wicket. Bates went on to score a half-century, and so did Sophie Devine as the White Ferns posted a respectable score of 259 runs. In addition, New Zealand will employ the services of Maddy Green, Brooke Halliday, and Isabella Gaze in the middle order.
Coming to the bowling, the seamers were in top form as they picked up 8 wickets. Lea Tahuhu and Jess Kerr will be supported by Devine in the pace department while Fran Jonas and Eden Carson are likely to be the two spinners on the team.
The team winning the toss will likely opt to bat first.
The surface in Ahmedabad is likely to be true and the batters will get value for their shots. That said, there is plenty of help for the bowlers if they stay close to the stumps. The seamers who take the pace off will be rewarded with wickets. A score of around 250 could be tricky to chase here.
The weather will be bright and sunny with temperatures of over 30 degrees.
India looked out of depth in their last outing and needs to work hard on all aspects of the game, particularly the batting. The top and middle order hasn’t been able to play consistently and that has put pressure on the batters coming lower down.
On the other hand, New Zealand seems to have found a good rhythm, and most of its players are doing well
