Ireland W has never defeated India in ODIs
India has a stronger batting unit with plenty of depth
Ireland’s middle order hasn’t been in the best of form
Smriti Mandhana and Pratika Rawal have been consistent as an opening pair and have scored at least 70 runs as a pair in both matches so far. As the bowling from Ireland hasn’t been the best, we are expecting another good start for India.
Rawal has been a consistent performer with the bat and has scored 290 runs in her career at an average of 58.00. She has scored at least 40 runs in 4 of her last 5 innings including 3 half-centuries and we are backing her to play well here.
Having already won the 3-match series, the Indian Women’s team will aim for a clean sweep as they take on Ireland for the last match on Wednesday at the Niranjan Shah Stadium in Rajkot.
The two teams have faced each other in 14 matches and India has won all of them.
This match can be watched live on the Disney+ Hotstar App and Star Sports Network.
The Indian Women’s team has been clinical in its performance during this series and has hardly broken any sweat as it took an unassailable 2-0 lead. As a result, they have also moved up to second place in the ICC Women’s Championship table.
Pratika Rawal, who made her ODI debut in December last year has been in sensational form with the bat and has scored back-to-back half-centuries. She has played a vital part in giving the team a strong start in both matches. Her opening partner, Smriti Mandhana, is in equally good form.
The middle order consists of experienced players like Jemimah Rodrigues, Harleen Drop, and Richa Ghosh, who provide heft to the batting line-up. Young Tejal Hasabnis has shown sparks of brilliance and looks a promising prospect for the team.
Deepti Sharma and Priya Mishra make up for a strong spin department and have picked up 4 wickets each. Debutant Sayali Satghare picked up a wicket in both her outings and has given good support to Titas Sadhu and Saima Thakor.
While not many would have expected Ireland to win, they would have wanted the team to put up a good fight. However, that has not been the case and the visitors have already lost the series and have only pride to play for.
Sarah Forbes and Gaby Lewis will open the batting for Ireland and will look to give the team a strong start. They have been a bit inconsistent in the two matches but can turn things around. Coulter Reilly scored a half-century in the previous game and looks in good touch as well.
However, the batting from the middle order hasn’t been the best. While there some good players like Orla Prendergast, Laura Delany, and Arlene Kelly, none of them have been able to make a meaningful contribution.
The bowling has been underwhelming, to say the least. Freya Sargent and Georgina Dempsey have picked up only 1 wicket each, while Aga Canning and Alana Dalzell are wicketless.
The team winning the toss will likely opt to bat first.
The pitch at Rajkot is good to bat on. The surface is flat and hard, offering good carry. The ball comes onto the bat and playing shots will be easy. The average first-inning score here is around 300. The quicker bowlers will get some help when the ball is new but any loose deliveries will be punished. The weather will remain clear with temperatures of around 27 degrees.
We are backing India W to win this match. They have played well in both matches so far and have dominated Ireland in all aspects of the game. The visitors will find it difficult to overcome such a stiff opponent.
Bet on India Women to win.
