Both teams have a lot of six hitters but players like Markram, Klaasen, Abhishek Sharma, and others give SRH a fair chance of hitting more sixes. We like the odds on offer for this one.
Mayank Aggarwal is never the most reliable of batters even at his best but his record against Jasprit Bumrah is absolutely horrendous. He has faced Bumrah for 16 deliveries, getting out three times and scoring 11 runs in that time. MI will look to exploit that.
The style of T20 cricket is changing and personal milestones are becoming less important. Players continue to take risks throughout their inning and so bigger scores are becoming rarer. With so much of batting depth in both teams, a high-scoring match does not necessarily mean a big individual score.
Sunrisers Hyderabad To Win the Match, 2.15
Sunrisers Hyderabad and the Mumbai Indians were both at the wrong end of thrillers in their opening matches of IPL 2024. Both teams could have won quite easily had a couple of things gone their way and have some positives to take but there are also plenty of questions to be answered. That makes this next contest between them absolutely mouth-watering.
The two teams have played against each other 21 times with MI winning 12 times and SRH 9 times. MI has also had the upper hand in their recent history with four wins out of the last five matches.
This match will be available to stream on the Jio Cinema app. It will also be broadcast on the Star Sports netrok of channels.
The Sunrisers Hyderabad team did a lot of things right in its match against KKR but somehow ended up losing the match. T Natarajan, Mayank Markande, and Pat Cummins bowled well at the start to pick up some wickets and reduce KKR to 119 for 6.
The death bowling efforts were quite poor as they were unable to stop Andre Russell and Rinku Singh from smashing the ball around the park. Perhaps, Cummins will keep himself for the death overs to try and alter the balance of the attack a bit.
Bhuvaneshwar Kumar's outing was forgettable and SRH will needs its experienced campaigner to come good.
On the other hand, the batting effort was absolutely brilliant highlighted by Heinrich Klaasen. Is there a better T20 batter than him in the world right now? We would argue not. With him in the lineup, SRH has a weapon at its disposal at all times.
Aiden Markram and Abhishek Sharma are the two other primary batters in the lineup with supoort from Mayank Aggarwal and Rahul Tripathi. We think, there is a case for the inclusion of Travis Head into the lineup but Pat Cummins seems happier to have the all-round talents of Marco Jansen at the moment.
SRH is a very strong team with its overseas players absolutely world class. The trick will be getting the best out of the Indian players.
Mumbai Indian went into IPL 2024 as the title favorite for most bookmakers. They seemed to have more than enough to win against GT, keeping them to a below par total and then getting off to a good start with the bat. Things did not progress the way they would have wanted and some strange decision making did not allow MI to use their resources in the best possible manner.
Looking ahead to the match against SRH, having a bowler like Jasprit Bumrah leading the way is a huge advantage. he can take the new ball, bowl in the middle overs, and be effective at the death as well. Geral Coetzee seems to be the overseas fast-bowler that MI is counting on with support from Hardik Pandya and Luke Wood.
MI does not have a strong set of spinners, something that it was aware of going into IPL 2024. The batting lineup for MI is obviously strong but withot SKY there are a few questions to answer. Rohit has been great at the start butis lacking the big innings.
At the same time, Ishan Kishan has been out of cricket and is under pressure, Tim David seems to struggle against spin, and Hardik Pandya is batting in a position that he has not favored for the last few years. MI is more vulnerable than it has been for a long time.
The team that wins the toss is going to want to bat first. 6 out of the previous 10 matches in Hyderabad has been won by the team that has batted first.
There is no rain predicted on match day and we should have no interruptions. The average score batting first is 174 while the average winning total is 179. The first match had over 400 runs scored, though, so teams may want to aim a bit higher.
30 fours have been hit per match over the last 10 matches played at the venue. Batting strength is key to win matches.
We are going to back the underdog in this contest and bet on the Sunrisers Hyderbaad team. They have a strong batting lineup and with Pat Cumins, a very experienced and confident leader. MI, on the other hand, is in turmoil and showed a lot of uncertainty in its previous match.
SRH's batting strength shold help it emerge victorious.
Bet on SRH to win.
