The pitch at Jaipur isn’t the easiest to bowl on and the bowlers will need to bend their backs if they want to pick up wickets. The two matches played here season have both seen fewer than 12 wickets fall and we can expect a similar outcome in this game.
Kohli is in excellent form for the Royal Challengers and is also the leading run-scorer of the season so far. He has scored two half-centuries in his last 3 innings and was the top batsman for the team in both of those games. With the batting around him being rather inconsistent, Kohli has a good shot at becoming the top batsman yet again.
The Sawai Mansingh Stadium offers an excellent batting track allowing the batsmen to play their shots naturally. As the boundaries here aren’t the longest and with plenty of hard-hitting batsmen playing for both teams, we are bound to have a couple of high-scoring overs.
The Rajasthan Royals will be looking to extend their unbeaten run in the ongoing IPL season as they host the Royal Challengers Bengaluru for match number 19. The game will be played at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur on Saturday.
Both teams have played 17 matches against each other to date. The Rajasthan Royals have won 12 of those matches, while Royal Challengers Bengaluru have won 15.
This match can be live-streamed on the Jio Cinema App or can be watched live on the Star Sports Network.
Back from a difficult tour to England, the Sri Lankans will be relieved to be back on home turf as they face New Zealand at home after 5 years.
Sri Lanka has had a pretty settled batting unit and hasn’t made any major changes to the line-up, barring Nishan Madushka, who has been benched following his poor performance on the road. He has been replaced in the squad by the veteran top-order Oshada Fernando, who has put up an impressive performance in the ongoing unofficial test series in South Africa.
He will join the likes of Pathum Nissanka, Kusal Mendis, Dimuth Karunaratne, and Kamindu Mendis in the line-up. Coming to the bowling, seamers Kasun Rajitha and Nisala Tharaka didn’t bowl in England and they have been dropped here, given the spin-friendly nature of the wicket in Galle.
Lahiru Kumara, Angelo Mathews, and Vishwa Fernando are the 3 seamers on the squad. Ramesh Mendis may find a place in the playing eleven thanks to his all-round abilities.
Sri Lanka is obviously a tougher team to face at home than in seaming conditions. Expect batters like Nissanka and Mendis to prosper while the spinners will dominate proceedings with the ball.
As RCB continues its hunt for the elusive IPL title, the team hasn’t had the best of starts this season. With 3 losses in 4 matches, RCB is placed in the bottom half of the points table.
Virat Kohli is in scintillating form with the bat and has scored 204 runs at an average of 67.66. He is the leading run-scorer this season and his knocks include 2 half-centuries. However, he has received very little support at the other end. Faf du Plessis, who was among the top two run-getters last season is yet to play a big inning.
Similarly, the likes of Rajat Patidar, Anuj Rawat, Glenn Maxwell, and Cameron Green are yet to get going. The inconsistencies continue in the bowling unit as well. Mohammed Siraj has managed to pick up only 3 wickets in 4 matches.
Maxwell and Yash Dayal are the leading wicket-takers for the team with 4 wickets each. Reece Topley did join the team in the last match and will provide a quality option in the seam department.
The team winning the toss will likely opt to bat first.
The Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur is a high-scoring venue. The two matches played here this season have seen an average first-inning score of around 185. The surface is dry and there is very little help for the quicker bowlers. The batsmen will find the ball coming nicely onto the bat. The pitch does slow down a bit in the second half and will help the slower bowlers.
Anything over 180 will be tricky to chase.
The weather is likely to be warm and dry with temperatures of around 30 degrees Celsius.
While RCB has plenty of quality players, especially in the batting unit, they have failed to perform well and have paid the price. On the other hand, the Rajasthan Royals have done well as a unit, and playing with a home advantage, they are likely to continue with the winning momentum.
Bet on the Rajasthan Royals to win.
