Bumrah is in top form with the ball and is leading the race for the purple cap. He has picked up at least 2 wickets in 3 of his last 4 outings and is likely to bowl another good spell in this match.
Rohit Sharma is the leading run-scorer for MI and has scored 297 runs at an average of 49.50. He has scored at least 35 runs in 5 of his 7 innings, including a century. As the batting around him has been a bit inconsistent, backing Sharma makes good sense.
The Sawai Mansingh Stadium has produced some high-scoring encounters this season, with an average of over 370 runs being scored per match. With both teams containing some serious batting prowess, we are bound to see a couple of high-scoring encounters.
The Rajasthan Royals will look to extend their lead at the top of the points table as they face the Mumbai Indians on Monday. The match will be played at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur.
Both teams have faced each other in 30 matches so far. The Mumbai Indians have won 16 of those games, while Rajasthan has ended on top on 14.
This match can be live-streamed on the Jio Cinema app or watched live on the Star Sports Network.
The Royals are in scintillating form this season, winning 6 of the 7 matches played so far. As a result, they are quite comfortably placed at the top of the points table.
Riyan Parag and Sanju Samson have been pretty consistent with the bat, scoring 3 half-centuries each, and will be the key batsmen for RR. Parag is second on the list of top run-getters this season.
Jos Buttler has shown glimpses of his brilliance and has already set the IPL alight with one of the most incredible chases you could ever see. His knock of 107 not out in the team’s last match was one of the finest in a chase, helping RR snatch victory from the jaws of defeat.
However, the form of other batsmen including Yashasvi Jaiswal, Dhruv Jurel, and Shimron Hetmeyer hasn’t been consistent. Hetmyer at least scores at a very quick strike-rate but all three batters need to do better.
Yuzvendra Chahal has bowled well to pick up 12 wickets and will be joined by Ravichandran Ashwin in the spin department. The pace attack consists of Trent Boult, Avesh Khan, and Kuldeep Sen. Unlike a lot of other teams, RR has a strong spin bowling attack and will look at tie down the MI batters with their slower bowlers.
The Mumbai Indians survived a scare against the Punjab Kings on Thursday and registered their 3rd win of the season. As a result, the team has moved up to the 7th spot. However, with half the season behind them, there is plenty of work that needs to be done.
The Mumbai Indians continue to rely on the top 5 batsmen to score runs. Rohit Sharma and Ishan Kishan have been pretty consistent in the opening slot, while Tilak Varma is a solid performer in the middle order. Suryakumar Yadav and Tim David have played a couple of handy knocks and can quickly turn the game thanks to their ability to play the big shots at will.
The lower order will need to step up as Hardik Pandya, Romario Shepherd, and Mohammad Nabi are having an ordinary season with the bat. Mumbai’s new-ball attack is arguably one of the best in the League. Jasprit Bumrah is the leading wicket-taker with 13 wickets, while Gerald Coetzee is close behind with 12.
Barring the duo, the others including Akash Madhwal and Shreyas Gopal have been very expensive.
The team winning the toss will likely opt to bowl first.
The pitch at Jaipur is conducive to bat on and we can expect a high-scoring match. The average first-inning score here this season is around 190. But the team batting first will look to cross the 200-run mark. The pitch is on the dry side and the seamers will need to work hard to pick up wickets.
The spinners will get plenty of turn.
Both teams have a strong batting line-up and we have a thrilling encounter on our hands. While the Mumbai Indians would be an obvious choice for many punters, we are going with the Royals for this match, primarily because of its well-balanced bowling attack.
Bet on the Rajasthan Royals to win.
