Virat Kohli to score Over 32.5 runs
Kohli is the leading run-scorer of the tournament and has an average of 63.12. He is in excellent form and has scored 4 consecutive half-centuries heading into this match. He has scored at least 33 runs in 2 of his last 3 outings against LSG. We are therefore backing him to play a good knock.
Total wickets Under 13.5 runs
While the pitch at the Ekana Stadium does help the bowlers, none of the 5 matches played here this season have seen more than 13 wickets fall. As LSG’s bowling hasn’t been consistent, we expect that trend to continue.
The Lucknow Super Giants will be fighting for survival as they take on the Royal Challengers Bangalore later this week. The two teams will play at the Ekana Stadium in Lucknow on Friday.

The two teams have faced each other in 5 matches to date. The Lucknow Super Giants won 2 while the Royal Challengers Bangalore won 3.
This match can be watched live on the JioHotstar App and Star Sports Network.
The Lucknow Super Giants enjoyed a steady start to their campaign but 4 losses in their last 5 matches have left them in a precarious situation. With only 3 games left to go, LSG is 7th on the points table and if they lose here, they will have only a mathematical chance of making it to the playoffs.
The Lucknow Super Giants’ overreliance on the top order seems to have affected the team’s fortunes. While the likes of Aiden Markram, Mitchell Marsh, and Nicholas Pooran were in blazing form at the start of the season, they haven’t been able to get going with the same intensity over the last couple of weeks and that has affected the team’s morale.
Rishabh Pant continues to struggle in the middle order and so have David Miller and Abdul Samad. Ayush Badoni has played a couple of decent knocks but that hasn’t nearly been enough to help the team win matches.
Coming to the bowling, Ravi Bishnoi and Digvesh Rathi have bowled well during the middle overs and have picked up 21 wickets between themselves. Avesh Khan has bowled well with the new ball as well as during the death overs. With the other pacers struggling, LSG might be tempted to bring in Shardul Thakur in the playing XI.
Lucknow Super Giants Expected Playing 11
Aiden Markram, Mitchell Marsh, Nicholas Pooran, Rishabh Pant (C & WK), Ayush Badoni, Abdul Samad, David Miller, Digvesh Rathi, Ravi Bishnoi, Prince Yadav, Shardul Thakur
The Royal Challengers Bangalore are on a roll this year. With 4 consecutive wins, the team has moved to the top of the points table and has all but qualified for the next stage.
Virat Kohli has been in incredible form at the top of the order. With 7 half-centuries in 11 innings, he is the leading run-scorer of this season and the team will bank on him to continue giving them good starts. Jacob Bethell, who is making his IPL debut this year, is playing well too as he scored a half-century and will continue to join Kohli as his opening partner.
Devdutt Padikkal and Rajat Patidar have been pretty solid in the middle order while Jitesh Sharma, Romario Shepherd, Tim David, and Krunal Pandya have played some good cameos. While Josh Hazlewood is RCB’s leading wicket-taker, he missed the previous match due to a niggle. His replacement, Lungi Ngidi bowled a brilliant spell to pick up 3 wickets.
With Yash Dayal and Bhuvaneshwar Kumar also bowling well, RCB has a problem of plenty when it comes to the seam department.
Jacob Bethell Virat Kohli, Jitesh Sharma (WK), Devdutt Padikkal, Rajat Patidar (C), Tim David, Romario Shepherd, Krunal Pandya, Lungi Ngidi, Yash Dayal, Bhuvaneshwar Kumar
8 of the last 10 matches played here were won while batting second. In 9 of those matches, the captain winning the toss opted to field first and we expect that trend to continue.
The pitch at the Ekana Stadium is one of the more balanced surfaces in this tournament. The average first-inning score here this season is around 175. The seamers will get some help when the ball is new as there is some green grass on the surface.
Once the batsmen settle down, playing shots will get easier. The surface evens out in the second half, and while the spinners can get some turn, it will be better for the batsmen.
The team batting first will look to score between 180-190 runs. The weather is likely to be warm and cloudy with temperatures over 30 degrees.
We are backing the Royal Challengers Bangalore to win this match. They have been among the most consistent sides this season and have plenty of players who are in good form. On the other hand, Lucknow’s batting, particularly from the middle order, has been rather inconsistent.
LSG vs RCB win percentage stands at 56% in favor of RCB.
