Shubman Gill is a young Indian batting prodigy who has seamlessly transitioned into leadership roles. Alongside the skipper is former England captain Jos Buttler. The wicketkeeper-batter brings a wealth of experience in white-ball cricket.

Emerging talent Sai Sudharsan, who made his ODI debut against South Africa in December 2023, will be another dangerous batter whose performances in the past have brought him a taste of international white-ball cricket. Both Gill and Sudharsan hit scores in the 30s in the side’s previous win over Punjab Kings.

The middle order is fortified by the hard-hitting Shahrukh Khan and the versatile Glenn Phillips. Phillips comes off the back of a phenomenal ICC Champions Trophy campaign with his national side. The New Zealander has five centuries in the T20 format.

All-rounders Washington Sundar and Rahul Tewatia offer balance in the all-rounder department. They are reliable performers for Gill to turn to at any point. Sundar has 378 runs and 37 wickets in the IPL. Tewatia played a rescue act when hit 36 runs off only 18 balls not out to clinch the game for the Titans against the Kings in Mullanpur last year.

The spin department will largely be Afghan leg-spinner Rashid Khan’s responsibility. The world-class spinner will lead the charge with the ball. Khan has taken just under 60 wickets for the Gujarat franchise.

The pace attack is formidable with experienced internationals in South African speedster Kagiso Rabada, Indian veteran Ishant Sharma and the fiery Mohammed Siraj. The Titans will have fire in their bellies at the start and in the death overs. Rabada has 117 wickets and six four-wicket hauls in the IPL. Sharma has over 150 T20 wickets.

The batting lineup is fortified by wicketkeeper-batters Josh Inglis and Prabhsimran Singh. Both openers are tidy with the gloves and game-changers with the bat. Inglis has four T20 centuries. Singh scored 35 runs against Gujarat in Mullanpur last year.

All-rounder Glenn Maxwell is one of T20 cricket’s entertainers. He walks into most T20 teams as someone who the team can bank on having a match-defining innings at some point. He was part of a Washington Freedom side which won the 2024 Major League Cricket tournament in the latter half of 2024.

Emerging Indian talents like Musheer Khan and Shashank Singh offer depth to extend the batting lineup. Khan's left-arm orthodox spin also adds something more. Shashank Singh has a batting average of almost 40 and a batting strike rate over 150 in his last ten IPL matches.

The bowling attack is spearheaded by left-arm pace sensation Arshdeep Singh. He was a key figure in India's 2024 T20 World Cup triumph. Singh has 15 IPL wickets in his last ten matches. Leg-spinner Yuzvendra Chahal will be a welcome face to this Punjab lineup after previous experience with the opposition and as one of the IPL’s top wicket-takers.

He has over 200 wickets in his long IPL career. South African all-rounder Marco Jansen's left-arm pace and movement with the new ball will be difficult to face as a batter.
