The Chennai Super Kings are one of the most successful franchises in the history of the league and are also the defending champions for this season.
The Super Kings have retained much of its core squad from last season, something which has become a hallmark of their functioning. MS Dhoni, Ravindra Jadeja, Ruturaj Gaikwad, Shivam Dube, and Ajinkya Rahane are all set to reprise their roles in the batting line-up. The team received a bit of upsetting news before the start of the season as Devon Conway, who was the leading run-scorer for the team last season, pulled out of the first half due to an injury.
Thankfully, the team has brought in a couple of big international stars in the form of Rachin Ravindra and Daryl Mitchell who can fill in for him. Another big addition is that of Sameer Rizvi, who could feature in the middle order.
CSK boasts of a strong pace unit thanks to the presence of Tushar Deshpande, Matheesha Pathirana, Mustafizur Rahman, Shardul Thakur, and Deepak Chahar.

The Royal Challengers Bangalore will once again begin their quest for the elusive IPL title as they take on the mighty CSK. With a strong batting unit, RCB will look to score plenty of runs.
With Virat Kohli and Faf du Plessis coming in at the top of the order, the Royal Challengers have the most electric opening pair in the league. As was the case last season, the team will want the duo to give them a strong start. The middle order consists of Dinesh Kartik and Rajat Patidar.
