AUS vs IND Betting Tips

Adam Zampa to be the best bowler for Australia

Adam Zampa bowled a good spell in the previous match to pick up 4 wickets and was the best bowler for his team. He has a good record at the SCG and has picked up 11 wickets in his last 4 matches here, including two 4-wicket hauls. We are therefore backing him to be the best bowler for India in this match.

Axar Patel to score Over 20.5 runs

Axar Patel has been pretty consistent with the bat for India and has scored at least 21 runs in each of his last 5 innings. He has also scored at least 21 runs in 4 of his last 5 matches against Australia, and we reckon he will bat well in this match.

AUS vs IND Team Previews

Australia

Australia will be chuffed by the way they have performed so far in this tour. With two wins in as many matches, they have already won the series and will be out to claim a whitewash.

Australia is likely to stick with its opening combination of Mitchell Marsh and Travis Head for this match. While Head has struggled to get going, Marsh has played well and will look to give the team a solid start in this match.

The two all-rounders, Matthew Short and Cooper Connolly, played well in the previous match, scoring individual half-centuries, and helped their team achieve the target with relative ease. The others in the batting line-up include Alex Carey, Mitchell Owen, and Matthew Renshaw, all of whom are quality batsmen.

The bowlers have played a pivotal role in Australia’s success so far. The pace trio of Xavier Bartlett, Mitchell Starc, and Josh Hazlewood have bowled well and have rattled the Indian top order. Adam Zampa, who joined the squad in Adelaide, picked up 4 wickets and will lead the spin department.

Australia Expected Playing 11

Mitchell Marsh (C), Travis Head, Alex Carey (WK), Mitchell Owen, Cooper Connolly, Matthew Short, Matt Renshaw, Xavier Bartlett, Mitchell Starc, Josh Hazlewood, Adam Zampa

India

A lot was expected from the visitors, especially as the two senior players, Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma, returned to the side after a long hiatus. However, they have been below par in their performance and have already lost the series.

Sharma struck a fine half-century on Thursday and will look to carry on with the same form in this match as well. However, Virat Kohli has been dismissed for a duck in both games and will be very frustrated with the way he is batting.

Shubman Gill has also struggled against the new ball and will need to do a better job going ahead. That said, there have been a couple of positives that India will look to build on. Axar Patel has done a decent job with the bat, while Nitish Reddy and Harshit Rana played a couple of good cameos.

India has a lot of depth in its batting, but it needs the lower-order batsmen to shoulder more responsibility. Coming to the bowling, India is sorely missing the services of Jasprit Bumrah in the pace department.

While Mohammed Siraj, Arshdeep Singh, and Harshit Rana are all good bowlers, they lack the intensity and accuracy of Bumrah. The exclusion of Kuldeep Yadav from the playing XI is also a big surprise.

India Expected Playing 11

Shubman Gill (C), Rohit Sharma, Virat Kohli, KL Rahul (WK), Axar Patel, Shreyas Iyer, Nitish Reddy, Washington Sundar, Mohammed Siraj, Arshdeep Singh, Harshit Rana

AUS vs IND Toss Prediction

9 of the last 10 matches played here were won while batting first. In 3 of those games, the team winning the toss opted to field first. However, we feel that batting first might be a better option here.

Pitch Report and Weather Conditions

The pitch at the SCG is usually good to bat on, especially during the first half of the match. The surface is on the dry side, offering good pace and bounce. While the new ball does move around a bit, once the batsmen settle down, playing shots will get easier.

The surface dries out even further as the match progresses, and the spinners can expect help in the second half. The average first-inning score here is 225, but the team batting first will look to score at least 280-290 runs.

AUS vs IND: Who Will Win?

We are backing Australia to win this match. They have played well in this series, doing well with the bat and the ball. They have a strong batting line-up with some in-form batsmen and a well-balanced bowling unit. India, despite having plenty of match-winners, hasn’t been able to play well as a unit and could struggle to bounce back.

Bet on Australia to win.

Pro Tip: Both teams have been quite cautious with the bat and the run rates have been quite low. Betting 'Under' the Total Sixes or the Total Runs market seems to be the way to go here.
