The West Indian bowling attack has done well in the tournament so far and we think they are likely to pick up an early wicket.
Dwayne Smith has a brilliant power game and that can be very tough to defend in a league like the IMLT20. Batting in the powerplay gives him an advantage as well.
The West Indies Masters will look to extend their unbeaten run in the ongoing International Masters League T20 as they take on Sri Lanka Masters in match number 10 of the tournament. The two teams will clash at the BCA Stadium in Vadodara.
Sri Lanka Masters have won two and lost one out of the three matches they have played against West Indies Masters in the past.
This game will be available to Indian cricket enthusiasts on TV at Colors Cineplex. The encounter can also be watched via live streaming on the FanCode website and app.
After losing their opening fixture, Sri Lanka Masters have made a smart comeback, winning consecutive matches as they head to this contest.
Sri Lanka’s batting line-up is made up of some quality players but they have been a bit inconsistent this season. Upul Tharanga and Kumar Sangakkara will open the batting here and will look to give the team a strong start.
Tharanga looked to be in fine form in the last match as he scored a century and will hope to replicate his performance in this match as well. Asela Gunaratne and Lahiru Thirimanne have contributed with a couple of handy knocks but Sri Lanka will expect better performance from the all-rounders.
Coming to the bowling, Sri Lanka is betting heavily on its seam attack to deliver the goods. Nuwan Pradeep and Isuru Udana will lead the attack with the new ball and will be supported by Dhammika Prasad.
Chaturanga de Silva has bowled well during the middle overs to pick up 4 wickets.
The West Indies have been clinical in their performance so far, winning both their matches. They are currently placed 3rd on the points table.
Chris Gayle and Dwayne Smith have given the team a couple of good starts and will look to do the same in this match as well. The duo forms an explosive opening and if one of them gets going, the West Indies could score a lot of runs in the Powerplay.
The middle order is made up of Chadwick Walton, Dinesh Ramdin, and Kirk Edwards, while all-rounders Narsingh Deonarine will add depth to the batting. West Indies also has a strong bench comprising Lendl Simmons, Brian Lara, and William Perkins.
The West Indies’ biggest strength is its bowling, which has a perfect balance of seamers and spinners. Ashley Nurse and Suleimani Benn have picked up 6 wickets between them and will lead the spin department, while the two seamers, Ravi Rampaul and Jerome Taylor have picked up 4 wickets each.
The team winning the toss will likely opt to bowl first. This has been the way to go for most teams this season and we expect the captain that wins the toss to do the same.
The pitch at the BCA Stadium in Vadodara is flat and hard, offering excellent pace and bounce. The ball comes onto the bat nicely and playing shots will be easy. The outfield is lightning fast and we can expect plenty of runs.
There are some patches of grass and if the seamers bowl in those areas, they might get some help. However, any loose deliveries will be dispatched with ease.
The team batting first will look to score at least 200 runs. The weather will be clear and dry with temperatures between 24 and 27 degrees.
We are backing the West Indies to win this match. They have a strong top order and plenty of options in the middle order as well. Also, the team has one of the most balanced bowling units in the league which gives them an edge.
Bet on the West Indies Masters to win.
